upside down in a river of mud
Hey you Monsters!
I'm new here so this is my introduction.
While I'm here I hope to learn more about stuff like the Exo-Head guys
and Gargamel Microman vinyls. I'm sure I will meet some cool people here
and I hope to help out, if I can, with info on the toys I know
and with trading among the members here (how formal!).
My main interests are in Microman, Micronauts, and Henshin Cyborg
but I have all kinds of monsters and robots at my place.
I got this Skullman at the NY Comic Con back in February of this year.
That smorkin' labbit matches quite well.
(I'm looking to trade the Skullman for a Gargamel vinyl Microman)
Hey, I am an artist from Connecticut
Some of my collection:
Well, I still have a lot of reading to catch up on here, I know I won't get to
all that interests me, so if I ask questions that have been answered before,
forgive me, I am a worm. haha!

Nice collection! Tons of cool stuff I don't see often (or ever). That THOR Cyborg is very strange...
I think those drawings rock---the sweet irony of giant Micromen! Good job with keeping the proportions intact at that scale.

Thanks for the welcome and your comments guys!
That is a reissue Henshin Cyborg wearing a Famous Covers Thor costume.
Getting that costume on took some encouraging...
Thanks hypermook, the proportions were important to me.
It took me about an hour to get the scale for the first drawing,
the Acroyear on the left with the ball fists (Mego Acroyear II).
That drawing took about 5-6 hours total.
The second one was easier because I had already done all the measuring
and calculations (on my abacus). It's still not complete.
They are both over 6 feet tall.
After doing these as 'still life' drawings, I plan to do more at this size,
but with a little more 'artistic license', meaning I plan to do the next ones
in dynamic poses and perhaps a little more abstract and stylized.
And thank you mangakaben,
They are both charcoal drawings on heavy construction paper.
The white highlites are done with white pastel.

Yes, michael. It's the 'Spirit World Aang'.
I found that figure to be very "cyborg" like.
The Megaman is cool too, glad you noticed them!

Thanks guys!
Hey Manimal, we should trade some toy shop location secrets.
I'm in New Haven, but I get around.
Last great place I found was Amatos Toy and Hobby in New Britain
http://www.hobbysurplus.com/AmatosStore/NB-Map_3.htm
But it's mostly models and hobby stuff.
Still, it is an awesome store considering it's an actual 'maw & paw' shop.
Rare thing these days...
I got a Bandai Mazinger Z Extra Heavy Version Kit there for $25.
Still need to build it yet.
Thanks again for the comments guys.
Save me a cup of the kool-aid, liquidsky, for when I think I'm 'getting the fear'.
OK ...my pics are really too dark... I'm still working on a better setup for pics.

thanks guys.
I'm seeing the most amazing creations and collections on this board.
And great displays and photography.
Not all my stuff fits in here, so I may post some stuff that doesn't belong
but I'll try to keep it to a minimum. What really brings me here is
my interests in Microman and Takara toys, and robots and monsters in general.
I'm slowly collecting more Henshin Cyborg so it's the vinyl suits
and weapons and the Invaders and all the weird spin-offs of thet kind of that.
I'm still trying to identify it really, so if anyone has suggestions from the
looks of my posts, I sure would be a mighty bit appreciative~
So anyway, after these, I hope to post some pics of my collection
that really are a little more on target for this board.
But before I put the Skullman to rest I wanted to post these last ones.
This may be the only place on the web to post this Beetlejuice custom (haw haw)

"Wash Me"
Just kidding. Nice army of the Micronaut Aliens. I'm going to go ahead and assume (hope?) those are the repros.

haha, I was going to say something about my dusty figures...
nope, there are no repro aliens on that lower shelf.
everything INSIDE the black case is vintage Mego or Hour Toy (Interchangeables).
except the back row of boxed Acroyears on the top inside shelf.
The capsule Microman up above are a mix of vintage Takara,
repro Takara and vintage Mego.

Wow. Just, uh, wow. That would explain the lack of the color variants...
...and the Lobstros which was never reissued.
