Post Butanohana, Dako Vader, US Toys Garamon & More
Well I am completely hooked on Butanohana figures. I've been purchasing any Dino figures I can get my hands on (within reason if such a thing exists collecting this stuff) along with the Ultraman figures as well. I love the size of these guys, about 5 inches, great paint, pretty substantial thick vinyl and the whole retro feel they exude. I am going to post the dinos in the Vintage section as well because some of these minis are homages to the Takoda / Peach vinyls. I opened a few after I took the pics and my son and I were smiling ear to ear over the great look and qualty of these fellas. Oh and the header art is just great on the Dinos!

Ultraman figs....the Jiras is FANTASTIC! Excellent paint job on him!

U.S. Toys Garamon. All I can say is "OHMYFREAKINGOD!" (even though I'm an atheist )
This guy is about 6 inches and yet another high quality US Toys figure. For those of you that have some US TOYS figures you know what I mean. I have the minis and a Giant Kanegon but this is the first US Toys figure of this size I've purchased and it's become a favorite. I photographed him with the Blob and Dako for size reference and he is a cool chunky piece of vinyl.

And then there is the Vader Dako...'nuff said! Blew me away!

Another little gem I recently purchased, Denboku Jetter Marus. The vintage Popy Jetters always seemed to elude me but this is the next best thing IMO. Really nice paint job and high quality vinyl. Fun & true to character rendition to boot.

Wow, you bought the whole shebang of that Butanohana stuff! I picked up a bunch as well, and love them!

My favorite is the Carnotaurus- it's like a little chicken with that big head and tiny arms.

Where did the unpainted Placarius come from? It looks like a lucky bag item or something similar.

Holy shit! Such fantastic stuff!

I just found a blue Kong and never even knew the pink version existed - so great! And what a haul of dinosaurs too!

I agree, US Toys rule. They have such a great playfulness to them and the quality is amazing.

And that Dako... Words do not do it justice.

Nice nice stuff.

I have one of these on the way! Been feeling kind of crazy for it ever since I saw it in HyperHobby. Seeing the Tezuka show at the Asian Art Museum in SF didn't hurt, either.

Nice haul, I really enjoy looking at those Butanohana figures. Gotta' find some...

Edited to say: Oh yeah, that awesome Garamon's face kinda' looks like Coach McGurk to me!

Very nice. Glad to see some "other" companies getting some love e.g. Denboku, US Toys, and Butanohana.

I really want the Denboku Cyborg 009 vinyls but they are tough as hell to find.

Murder Blob may just be there for reference, but he steals the show for me.

Congrat's on your new additions.

The Denboku figures are really nice. Pretty limited too because most of the licenses they have are limited to shows/festivals only.
I'd like to get my hands on the 009 figures too, I have three vintage Takatoku Cyborg 009 figures with clear, glitter and gear chests that suffice till then. HA!

The Carnotaurus reminds of the giant bird in "Mysterious Island".
Butanohana threw in the the unpainted Placarius because I bought such a huge amount of figures. That was a pleasant surprise!

Love the Butanohana stuff. Reminds me of a cross between Bullmark and Popy in all the best ways. Also like the little catalog. Kind of an homage to the old Bullmark insert catalogs. Do you have the Garamon? Neat little figure. Comes with a little balloon. Thanks for sharing.

No I don't have the Butanohana Garamon but I would love to see a pic.
I've been looking for the Butanohana caveman set to go with the dinos but it seems like a tough set to locate. If anyone has pics of the Cavemen I'd love to see them.

Mark I just saw you were from Cleveland... I just moved from Cleveland 2 months ago.
Pics of your collection have just been blowing me away, fantastic collection!

I have that Jetter Marus figure too... it's really nice. I grew up reading the manga version that was serialized in the Japanese "TV Magazine". I still have them in my parent's attic. :D

I used to have that old Popy set that had the Mini Jetter Marus and the girl character along with a rocket and buttons I think. Man I wish I still had that now.

I think the vinyl figure is MUCH nicer than the old Popy version... that always seemed to blocky and bulky to me.

Not sure if Mark was referring to the Pigmon but here's a picture of him.

The Guron is still a personal favorite of mine as well.

I used to have a picture of the cavemen but can't seem to find it. They are really cool but not something I've ever been able to find either.

That Pigmon might be the one I am talking about, but I thought mine was a Garamon sculpt with a pink balloon. I can't seem to put my hands on it (I have too many toys.)

Here's a pic of that Popy set mentioned and a Popy Jetter. The larger Jetter is just 13cm tall. How tall is the Denboku Jetter? Didn't Denboku also make a nice Trident of the Sea vinyl?

Oh, I thought you were referring to the die cast Jetter Marus... I'm pretty sure my brain remembers a die cast version... (maybe?)

OH man that is the mini Popy set I had! The Denboku Jetter is 6.5 inches tall.
And yes Denboku did make a Trident figure, another tough one to snag. The bummer is that Denboku ONLY has licensing rights on the Tezuka figures anyway, to sell at shows only. Some stuff they have made available on their site though.
