Dusting sucks especially if you have a bunch of sb or rxh on risers and what not. I usually go over them carefully with a duster every two weeks or so and that gets the figures pretty good but after about a month and a half the shelves get pretty dusty so I will pull the figures off and give them a good cleaning and clean the shelves. Also gives you lots of opportunites to rearrange so your shelves don't start feeling stagnent. Sucks at first but it's not to bad after you have done it a few times.

This is my setup. I tend to keep things boxes and on shelves:

I use microfiber dust cloths about every three weeks or so. They are great for catching all the dust without risking scratches to the paint or vinyl, and are washable for re-use. I prefer shelves to enclosed cases but can definitely see the appeal of keeping the dust out. Play aggressive rock music loudly while dusting. It makes it less boring.

more of a set of bookcases rather than shelves individually
this is my setup in the city.

we have four shelves in two rows over a big unit for the other vinyl collection.
the good thing about shelving is that things aren't presented in neat little squares, the bad has already been mentioned.

These images are really old but show a display frame I built for my office. The office is really small so I don't have the room for deep shelving so this was something that I came up with to solve that problem. Dust is an issue though and although I too like having the figures accessible the dust is a real pain in the ass.

I seem to be one of the few folks that doesnt like to crowd his toys. the pics above solve that problem in one way. sweet homemade shelf (agreed, dust sucks)
I put some on shelves for a time, put them away. start over. here's a couple shelves with relatively few items.

if I posted too many pics, lemme know and I'll take some down.
there's a mix of western and eastern stuff here and some american vintage.

I also enjoy listening to "Sir Doku" and "Boogie On Real Head Woman" and sometimes "Isn't She Ugly?" while dusting kaiju, but I get tired of listening to Stevie Wonderwall on radio KFGU.

So you say you built that yourself plover? Awesome, that's exactly what I'd like one day for my fight figures and minis, that's great!
