 Underrated Toys Assemble!
If I see any more RxH minis, I'm gonna explode. (Just kidding... )
But I want to see what else everyone is collecting. So give the spotlight to that toy that no one else 'gets'... unless you want to keep it under wraps!
I am digging my Kaijuuken Antlar right now. It always bothered me that the B-Club reissue was that off-shade of turquoise, but Kaijuuken finally gave us an Antlar in the summery green of the Marusan original. He's also a rare mid-size toy, meaning that he is only a head taller than most fight figures. Also good: neat action pose. Not so good: legs don't move.

I will explode if I see another R X H mini! I don't get the appeal at all. Very kiddie looking IMO. I've suddenly found myself in love with the old Bullmark version sculpt of Mogera. Specifically the re-release M1 GID versions. Any other version of this sculpt never appealed to me but this one does. Which is weird because I tend to stick to things like woos, matangos, hedorahs, gargantuans, and this is like a giant mole drilling robot lizard. Thanks to Joe Bunny @ S7 I got the one I wanted most, and now I'm on the hunt for the other two GID versions:

I like 'em a lot but I think some of us are feeling a little "backlash" to the hysteria and hype, so I really appreciate exactly this sort of thread in the spirit of "there's more to toy life." Your Kaijuken Antlar is GREAT! Good photo too. I've come to really dig that company in the same way that people appreciate Dream Rocket ... great detailed sculpts and superior paint apps of classic monsters. I'll try to take some pictures of "less-loved" toys this week. Cool thread idea.

This is the only Gigabrain Jet that I own. I've seen the other colorways and would love to grab them but they're just too pricey right now. With about 14 points of articulation, it is an awesome piece of vinyl.

I have been on a tear on YJA hunting down Bear Model, it seems I;ve overpaid a bit for a few things then again I scored on some too. I really like them because of the detailed sculpts the odd color choices for vinyl and the bugged out paint apps. I dont have these in my hands yet as Im waiting for a couple more auctions to close before I get them sent. So far its mostly ultra baddies im collecting. Best thing is that they're relatively cheap going for between 1000 and 4000 yen for a single fig. Some are more but I dont really want those anyways...
As a collector of unpainted figs these are a grip i got for 70 bucks w. fees, total score
This guy is like a melted bombpop - probably paid too much for this guy but thats the breaks on a rookie move.
I dont know what show this is from (Im guessing Ultraman) but he's sick in purple. From this past Wonderfest

I'm with you abelincolnjr. Bear Model rules and it never ceases to amaze me how many toys they have out there. I personally rreally like their minis and recently picked up this guy after at least three previous attempts. I can't wait for him to arrive.

Great stuff! I think it's interesting that Bear Model reused the body from Pinya to make that pink Beroringa Seijin... I'm not familiar with the characters, but I wonder if there was a reason for that beyond cost-savings.
manmachine- That clear orange Pumpkin will always have a special place in my heart as my first JP vinyl piece. Every time I look at it, I remember the excited feeling that I had in pulling it out of the SB jar.

Plastica blog had the breakdown on this one...pretty cool story. The google translation bears witness to the story but its hard to describe... basically he Peroringa or (is it Pinya?) suit was going to be re purposed for another story that involved an underwater battle. Upon filming it turns out that technical or money issues came up and the story was scrapped and the episode was never filmed. This 2nd monster is the sculpt of the monster that never appeared.. akum6n you can read japanese right?please feel free to correct me.

Congrats on landing that Bear Model GID Kerona (Hyper Hobby version) abelincolnjr. I took me forever to find mine but I love him and he glows pretty nice too! All your Bear Model figures are looking good. I like the simplicity of them.

i'm with you on the bop monster gatchabert!! I love mine, he's so awesome! there is just something about his pose and fcial expression that really gives this figure so much personality!
but my number 1 underrated toy is by the company that calls themselves skullheadbutt.
i mean, what a name to start with, and god knows a lot of their other output i really can't stand but the MONSTER Q is fuckin cool as hell, if very hard to assemble, once you have all three pieces.
i wish i had the clear one with glo skeleton that went up on philips duprey becasue i think it would show off the three parts better than the grey one i have, but even still, you can see the various layers here pretty ok. he consists of an outer transparent grey and then a green transparent level that shows the skeleton and finally, a red solid glo level that denotes the internal organs. unfortunately, the grey and green levels seem to really mute the glo effect, and it barely can be seen after exposure to light. but still, i love this guy!

Antlar? Mogera? Jet Jaguar? Keronia? Chibul?
People still collect actual Kaiju?
How refreshing! Great thread guys!
I've been on an M1-Go tear lately and managed to score a yellow egg Bullmark reissue set for $65, and a MIB set of Mothra twins(with 2 mini Mothra larvae) for $40.
Keep up the hype, I'm getting over!

They are the twin girls that plea for the return of the giant Mothra egg.
They each come with a Bullmark mini larva reissue.
I'll snap a few pics when they get here. In the mean time check them out on Club Tokyo.

These should be out soon but IMO very underrated Romando sofubi figures which were only mentioned once on this board. Plus they're huge at 9" - 10" tall:
Mad Hurricane (Anime Version)
Mad Hurricane (Original Version)
