Post Shop Class
I never took any shop classes in high school. Looks like I could of used a few lessons, but I'm still happy with the results.

I think the Hukkokudo/IKB REPRO Smoguns are way underrated all together. I still really want the gold, dark and light blue ones and the original orange with black/blue spray. I might be done than....might be.

They're one of those sculpts, I think, one needs in hand to really get the most out of it. I always find myself picking them up and messing around with them, more than any other figure I own. Now that I have the 2 more difficult ones to get I've even considering going complete on them. But I don't like the solid red and smokey clear ones enough and would hate to own something I don't really like for the sake of saying "I HAVE THEM ALL!"

Junk pile monsters are so much fun, I really need to buckle down and get one of the giant Garubans too to add to these guys. We get so many pollution or "Hedorah" style monsters, which rule, but I feel the other side of them all, the physical/material waste side, is more fun. In a way they're more tangible. We can look and say "oh look, familiar stuff, a cell phone or car or I-Beams make it up!" rather than just globby lumps. But than take a step back and all of those little things make up the bigger and it's so much more defined.

The collage-esque aspect of Dempagon and Smogun/Sumogon really attract me to them. What I like, especially, about the Hukkokudo/IKB repro ones is the size. I love Gargamel's, but for me something is lost on the scaled down size. Plus the original IKB sculpt is so much less defined and more raw, a much more "made-at-home" feel that I find myself being drawn to more and more. Dempagon also has that same raw and "made-at-home" feel.

OK, long winded tangent over. I've just been on a high all week about these guys and can't wait to go grab more! Also thanks to everyone for the compliments on my pics, but thank Longneck and Hukkokudo, they're really the ones to credit.

I always had something against the Smogun repro's and said I only liked the mini smogun's. When I was in tokyo, I found a solid red for pretty cheap, I bought it and like you said. Since I had it in hand, I kept picking it up. There is something about having this figure in hand; I'm hooked now.

Post Re: Shop Class
One of my first Japanese toy interests was Gargamel's Smogun. I had about eight of them at one point. When the Hukkokudo IKB repro came out, I liked it, but never got around to getting one, and my interest in the Gargamel version faded. Now that I keep thinking about a standard size Smogun, and seeing some of the awesome versions that Hukkokudo have come out with (I am especially interested in the clear smoke and clear with blue versions), I am really wanting to pick one up, and soon.

I have held that 5.0 in my hands, and when the shop staff told me it had been sold online and wasn't going to make it to the store... well, I didn't cry. Almost, but not quite.

I'm glad to see it made it to a good home!!! 8)
