Post Target Earth Bagun
I finally got around to taking pics of the Target Earth Bagun and thought I would also include
side by side comparisons to the first Marmit version. ( both technically by Marmit, just 2 different lines ). The Target Earth (light blue one) being the version designed to be a replica from the Japanese Kaiju Book called "Sekaino Kaiju" by the books artist Nakaoka san who was involved and licensed it's production. Such a great contrast from each other, the TE version sculpted with a more graphic simplicity similar to a U.S. Toy vinyl or Gargamel Deathra, the other with monsterous detail and texture. Two all around great interpertations.

thanks for the post! i must say, i have always been turned off by the Bagun--but, now i see why. the TE version is strict simplicity, while the Marmit ver. is ostentatious--IMO.

Love the Target Earth version, looks like an actual toy made for a kid to play with. Are there other releases besides the blue?

This TE interpretation of this guy is by far my favorite of them all. Yuck is right, this just looks like it was really made for play. Great toy.

I love both of em, can't decide which one I would prefer, I like the simplicity of the TE but that Marmit would tear the TE up in a battle.

The Target Earth version seems like something Bullmark might have produced in the 70s- very smooth and stylized. Great find! I'm still looking for one of those.

Most definitely. Smooth, chunky and a bit cheeky/cartoon like.

he looks a bit TOO much like gargamels desura, Ialways imagined bagun as the more hardcore of the two. i like the sculpt thou over all just wish it had the flat face, and qued horns

TE's version is definitely closest to the book's image in color and sculpt...

i don't know a whole helluvalot about the character other than what i have seen in sculpts, but i don't really dig the whole ball on top of the horns/spikes thing. but other than that small dislike, the rest of the TE sculpt looks great. i like the wings detail, they are more angelic like than straight scary, hideous monsterish....
