Nice one. You can really see up close how subtle the paint transitions are, and get an eyeful of that love pearlescent sheen. Wonderful work on such a small piece of vinyl. (How the heck did he even hold it?! haha )
Amazing Deevis! Thanks for the photo . Are those glitter sparkles I detect in the vinyl, or is it just the texture? Love the color combination that the artist chose. Those blues/purples remind me of the abyss of those Japanese seimic-generated whirlpools. Mesmerizing and deadly!

To answer your question: NEITHER, ha! The vinyl base is a solid flesh color(u)r,* and although the 'maelstrom' certainly has detailed texturing, the areas around it are perfectly smooth. What I think the late-morning sun was accenting in the picture is actually the delicious over-spray from the coverage on helmet (silver) and the breastplate (inky black). Nice affect, however it was achieved.
Wonderful analogy, by the way. That's what I will think of whenever I see that single peeper from now on.
*Or whatever the PC term for than colo(u)r may be.

Ha, you are right Jason! That is a great 'new frontier.' That is some phenomenal sculpting work by Elegab, I am drawn in and mesmerized by the intricacy and detailing. Very lovely toy, and you make a fantastic close-up shot there. Nice work.
