Home office
So I finally got a wall unit built to show off some of my collection. My home office, a.k.a closet, is pretty small so I didn't have enough room for a Detolf unit or anything like that. I also wanted to try and show the figures as a group. I have to say it feels great to have them out and on display. I've started to build another one but don't know where the hell I'm going to hang it?

Looks great PLover!
I love the group shot because it takes up much less space then displaying them on bookshelves.
I think you have much more to display!

Cool thing with this display is that you can easily move toys around and juxtapose them against each other.
Hmmm. You got a couple damage brains I need... j /k

Wow, they really stick out like that, the white bg and everything. Much better then a regular book shelf top. Gives them nice size too.

Great craftmanship! Maybe you could put together some other shapes to suit the rest of your wallspace...

Thanks.
I think this is exactly what I'm going to do. It would be really cool to have the entire wall space a grid of toys.

Plover that looks great!-If you dont mind my asking did you do wood and then paint it or did you use a black PVC sheet goods or acrylic sheet w/half lap joints on the dividers...

Thanks HotRod.
The outer frame is made with an aluminum 2.5" deep shadow box frame. I cut my own since framing shops are such a rip off and had this left over from a previous project.
The dividers are actually made from wood. I cut 1/8" hollow core door panel into strips and then cut out the lap joints to form the grid. These were then painted matte black to go with the frame. Your idea of using PVC or acrylic sheet is excellent! I might have to look into that.

plover-black sheet PVC is really easy to cut and mill-We used to make displays for CVS pharmacies out of it...Not too expensive either..

I'm definitely going to look into this. That's a great idea and probably a whole lot easier to work with. Thanks.
