LASH, these are fucking phenomenal! Above and beyond!

You should make a comic book cover style back drop for them.

I love the mix of the hard lines and the fad, esp the belt buckle.

That captain A is gorgeous and I don't even really follow Marvel aside from video games. Great job Lash, awesome homage.

I was planning it, but had to hold off. Maybe in November. Homage figures are always so fun :)

not rxh related, but i've been throwing around marvel homage ideas in my head since i saw this. and one that popped into my mind is that cumberlain reminds me a lot of some cosmic characters. head shape and part of face like The Impossible Man, face a lot like Thanos. So many possibilities! It's exciting!

which reminds me, i've seen a few marvel tributes, but no DC?

would this no sell rule of the RxH apply to all the customs that were produced prior to Mori's decision or just the new ones that people are creating currently...?

seems a bit complicated if you ask me... there are sooo many RxH customs floating around that it would seem hard to govern such an act...

:|

I like buying customs, I like RxH... I'm just now hearing about this and it's making me very sad to think I will never be able to buy another custom chaos for as long as I live...

Well I suppose it was always the case, its just now that he has started to police them through local channels.

Hopefully this will not affect the RxH customizing community and I just pray that some of the newer up and coming artist's works can still be obtained on the down low in a respectable manner without upsetting anyone be it through trading or private messaging the artist directly... I fucking love my custom RxH pieces and constantly want to add more of them to the ever growing militia...!!!

First of all, those customs are truely amazing LASH, great ideas and perfectly done, I love everything about them :D
on the 'no sell rule' that is the strangest thing Ive ever heard, I would think any company would encourage the making and selling of customs, seems like it would just be free publicity for them and could only be a good thing. especially since they sell the unpainted ones for cusom purposes.
and Im confused about how they are policeing them, its not actually against the law or something is it? I would think if you bought any product, from a toy to an automobile to a chair, you could paint it and resell it if you wanted to. do they actually get the law involved if someone sells a custom or just ask them nicely to stop? Ive always heard Mori is a cool guy, I am so suprised to hear of such a decision, just seems mean and lame in every way, mabey there is another side to it Im not seeing, some of the saddest news Ive heard in a long time. does this mean you cant hire someone to do a custom rxh for you either? seems crazy he would not want people to do this :?

Well they aren't really getting the law involved, but more demanding they don't sell custom figures. You cant paint them and trade I suppose. I understand his stance as this is his product and he owns the rights to the line. But I think its really kinda unrealistic. Toys will be sold and traded weather its public or private no matter how much you try to stop it or don't condone.

I'm sure there is more to it but without his own words its just speculation and hearsay. The same goes for why he wont work with me even after how long I have been asking, giving and doing all that I can to get him to notice me. In the end I cant speak with him personally so who knows. I have pretty much given up all hope and I'm loosing interest. It has discouraged me that after almost 2 years and seeing others get the green light I still get the big N.O.

Some companies though are cool with customs it seems, case in point gargamel. Personally I think it has only made them that much more of a powerhouse. An awesome toy company with a great love for their collectors and what they do with their toys. I have actually looked into getting a sculpt made by them as they are in my mind the most well rounded toy company to date. Sadly though I don't have enough money. I have never asked if I could work with them on a run but I think I will be begging very soon :)

That really sucks, and I assume you have no idea for his reasons behind this?
Makes no sense at all to me.

My two cents. I guess a small run of Lash handpainted RXH mini's would move faster than some might think.

ALL RxH figures are forbidden. You can paint them just NOT sell them. Trading , I have no clue.

I would so trade you for the Cpt America.

I am rather confused with this thread.

I think the "no selling" rule is more applied towards selling custom RxH pieces on auctions and exhibitions, ie, you paint a RxH figure and start selling them.

I don't think the "no selling rule" is applied towards private commissions, ie the artist paint a figure after he receive a specific request to do so.

Personally, I have many RxH customs and have shown some keynote pieces to Mori-san from time to time. There is no indication that I shouldn't continue commissioning custom RxH from the man himself. My target is still to reach 66 one day.

Having said that, most Japanese artists that I know of do not accept custom commission on another artist's sculpt. Most wouldn't even accept commissions on their own sculpts for that matter.

The idea of trying to stop customs from being sold (besides being unrealistic) really seems counter intuitive to what this "scene" of toys is about for me, and beyond that puts a gross feeling in my stomach. Customs will always be sold, this will just likely make things more underground and prevent sharing pics/info with groups like the skullbrain community. I don't collect RxH, here is one more reason not to.

Marvel Universe action figures were my first major toy collection as a kid. These are well done and inspired.

I'm guessing 6 shelves of 11 . . . a line of 6 at the back & 5 up front . . .

So what's the deal with the ban on RxH custom sales? I'm still seeing them in the BST. Is he actually going to enforce this, or is it more of an 'on your honor' sort of thing?

I don't want to single anyone out (which is why I am posting here). But I would like clarification, if there is some to be had.
