Beralgon's 'shell' is really nicely done. I am not a huge fan at all of matte finishes, but it works well with his eyes being so glossy.

Jet Zaguar is totally rad as well.

Hey thanks everyone for all the compliments! I appreciate them and I'm glad you all dig what I do! I'm just trying new things and trying to get better and having fun with it.

I know there were some specific questions/comments so I'm going to answer those:


Most of my inspiration comes from doodling and coloring while I'm bored at work. I keep a bunch of sharpies in my toolbox with a stack of paper with line drawings of some of my favorite vinyl. =)

I was happy with the Beralgon shell too. I've been trying different looks, especially matte finishes which don't seem to pop up in too much Kaiju, and different way (for me) to do shiny and metallics. I've been doing almost all my gargamel minis' with solid black shiny eyes (right now only Tetran can have different eyes for some reason) because it seem to give them a bit of brightness and life that really adds (again for me at least) character to the little guys. Rangeas are just so so wild, like a monster you would see in an acid trip- and he needs a crazy outlandish look. I wish I had half a dozen to paint each in a different crazy way. =) Its a shame there aren't going to be anymore, it means that I'll be seeing less and less of them. =(

and as be being super busy- Painting is fun for me and it gets my mind off of stress- plus I work the late shift, so my time off from work is usually spent alone (all my friends work day-shift) so I paint during the day when I don't have much else to do. =)
