there are MANY "western artists that get by here le merde, bwana, martin ontiveros, and so on and so on, kaws being a god in alot of you guys eyes this guys making his own toys and apears to be heavily influenced by kays and even shades of bxh, take the vintage varan outta your ass and open your fucking eyes give people a shot before shooting um down FOR NO REASON, and atleast use your grown up words and give them something constuctive...

Well, if you knew the history of the board, it was FOUNDED to exclude the majority of Western vinyl. It was also created to allow people to self police itself for the most part.

When people create accounts on the board and immediately try to promote or sell things with their first post, it suggests that these people are not here for the purpose of joining a community nor does it suggest that they are here for anything other than to make a quick buck.

This is how the board has been, and this is how the board will probably always be. If you don't like it, then there ARE other boards to frequent.

There ARE a number of western artists that do collaborative projects with Japanese toy manufacturers that are well respected and appreciated here on the board. However, that doesn't mean that everyone and their brother should be allowed to try and shill their products here - especially those with absolutely no history of contributing to the board.



Again, this board self polices for the most part. When certain people seem to focus on degridating women, or other topics which showcase how immature or socially unenlightened they are, then expect to get called on it. It's not rocket science.

Y'know what? No. I'm not gonna give 'em a shot. I would MUCH rather have a vintage Varan up my ass than have this shit peddled on me on their 1st fuckin' post (then again, I can't stand KAWS or BxH). If you post shit on a message board and ask people to comment, you take the good with the fuckin' bad. Deal with it.

This is it in a nutshell. It's not about "western crap" infiltrating our forum as suggested by sumatra and Atom. There is very little western crap that isn't tolerated here, and we all know what it is. But posts like this are no different than posts peddling viagra or dick enlargement devices.

i love the hostility here. it shows true passion! i, myself, like some western vinyl, but it's nice to have a message forum without all that stuff, so i totally agree that this stuff don't belong here. i'm not gonna say its crap, but it definitely ain't my choice of shit i want to see on here, or expect to sift through. and, yeah, first posts trying to push their art work is fuckin' bogus.

the reason i refrain from calling it crap is kinda like the whole music thing. what i mean is, i always hear people saying shit like "hardcore rules, fuck the rest!" not those words exactly, but you get my point. i like hardcore. i like hip-hop. jazz. bluegrass. black metal. funk. folk. etc. it's that way with toys too. eastern vinyl. western vinyl. tin toy clown mascots. cereal box stuff. masters of the universe. thundercats. mego. etc...

Welcome to the board Arkiv,

First off, I feel like the artwork you posted is cool. But at the same time it's probably best to introduce yourself and get involved with the eastern toy scene first. It's cool to see that your pushing to get your stuff out, but maybe look at other posts and artwork here first and see if your style fits. I ain't saying that it sucks. Like I said, your doing something with it, and I respect that.

Please don't let everyone push you too hard. Just get involved more if you love all the japanese vinyl scene and maybe show your collection first. As of now, it's too KRish. And I really don't want that scene taking over the OG kaiju scene that has been built here for over the past years.
