 Damnedron
My Latest. Grimey metallic followed by rasberry and lime green tranparents. Color change on top of that then buried with high solids clear. Aqua pinstriping all done by hand. Highest quality. You can see your reflection in the piece it's so shiney. It's an exspensive way but I think the end result is worth the time and effort. Thanks 4 looking. I have a few more of these almost complete. Matt

 Re: Damnedron
My 2 cents: I would've liked for the striping to be less "busy." I think that crazy paint job needs to be the shining star of the piece. But what do they say? "Simple pleasures for simple minds." Still a killer job!

 Re: Damnedron
I LOVE it !!
But I would like to see more. An additional color to the stripping. Like neon green or red. That would push it over the top. Where getting close pal !

 Re: Damnedron
I see where your pin striping works on some of the other sculpts you pick, but I don't think it works at all with this one. The paint job is fantastic and probably better in person. I think the strips kill it for me. The Damn is a dripping melting blob of... damnation (i guess) and I don't think the hard lies work so well. Maybe if you did the strips, then smudged them with the drips it might be more in keeping with the sculpt. ....i hate being critical, sorry.

 Re: Damnedron
I think the paint job and pin striping you do are great. Together though they both take away from eachother. A great paint job on a figure or awesome pin striping on a solid figure, such as an unpainted glow or one painted a solid in the color of your choice, are very respectable.

 Re: Damnedron
Yeah, I think the pin-striping is nice, but it doesn't really seem to be doing anything for the figure at all... it's like here's some pin-striping for the sake of pin-striping.
Plus, it would be nice if you contributed to some other discussions rather than just posting pictures of your work.

 Re: Damnedron
Nice tecnique, but it would have worked even better on a bicycle. The simplicity of the figure is lost under all the noise.

 Re: Damnedron
Matt I've seen some of your work at Roto's forum and was amazed how your pin-striping complimented the paint and sculpt. This Damnedron however didn't and a bit busy. Your Deathra from on the other post was a much better attempt that truly showcased your skills.

 Re: Damnedron
is that glitter paint? this thing looks crazy impressive! yet, not trying to sound repetative here, but i'm more of a symmetry form guy, and the surreal/abstract application of the pin striping doesn't sit well with me. which is odd, since i love hawaii style painting, and that style throws symmetrical concept completely out the window of a car moving fast down the wrong side of the freeway.

 Re: Damnedron
gonna have to echo a bit here and say that I do not believe every piece that you do HAS to be pinstriped - this would have been hot enough just sprayed with those tasty metallics and faded real nice like you do

 Re: Damnedron
this sucks... shitty tribal lines do not equal pinstriping. it looks like you gave some little kid with seizures a paint pen and a damnedron that was covered in gross metallic paints.

 Re: Damnedron
The pin-striping definitely doesn't work for a sculpt with such "melty" lines. The striping does look to just go randomly where ever it likes. While you have some nice skills with it, I don't think it worked for this one.

Not knocking the skills, but it doesn't compliment the figure in my opinion. This is just a look I can pinstripe and laydown shiny paint with no regard to the actual figure being painted, it could have been anything under there. Just because you can put pinstripes on something is kicks ass all of a sudden? People are always asking for honest "thought out" opinions, but when they come and aren't all flowery and complimentary they're invalid?

 Re: Damnedron
of course they are valid remarks.
in my opinion, it would have looked worse if he tried to do your typical asymetrical pin striping. I think the randomness compliments the melty nature of the sculp. I can see where some might think it's a bit busy, but i love it.
