I can always appreciate a person who knows how to push the paint just right and shows true appreciation for all lines no matter WHAT years they came out!

Restoration is HARD work! These toys are getting love from the right person!

Coming from you Paul, that is a compliment INDEED !!!

Yeah, having the kids name scrawled on the feet with a magic marker is quaint and nostalgic, adding a bit of history to a vintage toy.

But I also like written names on the feet like this too !!

Did you at least put the dirt and grass back in after restoring? ;)

Hah, I don't think I tried.

Greetings,
I just finished editing the rest of the pics for this commission and building the webpage - please take a look!

Sweeet, thx to you, NT and Redhanded for the very nice compliments!

The Marmit Getter robot stands about 16" and started out as translucent orange. Due to my use of the pastel colorshifting paints, I refer to it as the "Art Deco Robo".

I'm also working on a companion piece for the same client, the 16" translucent yellow Marmit Getter Dragon.

Post KaijuZoo M1Go Lucky Bag Black MechaGodzilla
My challenge in designing this M1Go Lucky Bag Black MechaGodzilla commission was how to apply the paint to make the figure more interesting yet still allow the evil blackness of the vinyl sculpt to "pop". With airbrush and by hand, I applied to every rivet and mechanical joint a single coat of a thin translucent metallic blue and then a single coat of my blue color-shift translucent. That made the "blueness" come alive with shades of purple here and there as the figure is rotated. Quite an amazing sight to behold in person, much better than the pics!!

I hope to get a commission for the companion piece, the M1 Black Titanosaurus to provide it with a similar color-shifting effect, perhaps using reds on the black instead of blues.

The more I use these color-shift paints, the more impressed I am with their wildly cool results. But please let me know what YOU think!!

Post KaijuZoo M1Go Ultra Kaiju Peter
This commission is based on the M1Go Ultra Kaiju Peter which was released earlier this year as an unpainted yellow Lucky Bag figure. The marvelous concept painting provided by my client is shown in the slideshow so be sure and check that out.

We are both *ecstatic* in how this project evolved from concept to completion and it is arguably my *best work* to date ! :D

More pics will be available later this week when I get the webpage completed.
Whatcha think !!??

Thanks to you guys for the props on my M-1 MechaG. Yes, there are AMAZING effects with my blue color-shift paint when applied on a dark black background. Anyone want a commission on the giant black Marmit MechaG!!??

As for the M-1 Ultra Kaiju Peter project at hand, the photos seems a bit harsh so I adjusted the brackets for the spotlights in my photo studio and also tried a lighter background. It still needs some work with the six photo lamps that I use but here is a much better exposed photo of the nice scale details in this commission. And of course, much of the success of this project is due to 'Mook's amazing concept photoshop as seen in the slideshow..

Absolutely love this one, John! I've had a colorway like this in mind for a few unpainted kaiju. The photo with the lighter background allow the different shades to stand out. Great work!

And thanks again for fitting my Billiken MechaGodzilla II kit into your schedule, I'm eagerly anticipating this one.

Hey thanks Eric. And here is an even better look at a close up of the scales - seven different colors were used on the back!!

For a ready reference comparison, here is the kewl photoshop from Hypermook with his original concept design.

Many thx for the props 'Mook - and it was a real pleasure to work with you too!

And for all, I just finished the webpage and it is now uploaded to my site. Regarding the completed project photos shown above, here is what the M1 figure looked like to start with ... quite a transformation I'd say!
