This is the most impressive thing I've seen from you! Not saying I LIKE it more than anything else, but it's INSANE! AMAZING! Perfect choice for the era too.

thanks everyone.... Glad I could contribute to the many talents on this board. As far as the process of sandblasting, it works very similar to the etching kits you buy. Just on a larger, more industrial level. First you need glass. You can use tempered glass which basically means it's cooked in an oven. The glass is heat treated for strength as well as safety. If the glass breaks, it shatters in small pieces instead of large shards which kill. You can only etch tempered glass because of its properties or else it shatters. For this project, I had to carve deep into the glass so I used non tempered. 5/8" is pretty damn thick so I just went with regular glass. I then stretch the buttercut stencil material on the glass. Remove bubbles. Lay up the art work. Once the artwork is layed up, take an x-acto knife and start cutting. Once the stencil is cut, you can start sandblasting. I use aluminum oxide. 100 grit which is very, very fine sand. Pour it into my sandblasting machine which is a large tank that holds it all. A large compressor feeds the aluminum oxide through a fat hose with a ceramic tip .
It pumps the aluminum oxide at very high pressures which carves into the glass. Similar to airbrushing but using aluminum oxide instead of paint.
I hope this helps.

This is so awesome, if i thought i could follow those instructions at all i would be busting out a gloved thriller era MJ, or a danzig, or maybe a full on zombie army in creepy blues and greens. Actually if i knew how to do that nobody would ever see me again and i would be surrounded by glass.
