Just off quick calculations its looking like at least 20-30.00 per concentrated ounce. Could be more or less though I stll have to look everything over. This can thinned to make 2-3 ounces. But still I know this is high for the casual painter.

It is the best Japanese paint made for vinyl, I will say that. It's makes all other paint for toys pale in comparison. Nothing, nothing ! Is as good, end point.

Getting this paint in legally was no easy task and extremely expenssive and why it's not offered ANYWHERE. I will be the only supplier in all of North America.

In all honesty I mainly got this for myself as being a toy maker I can't live without it. So I'm only offering this because I have it now.

You're the Walter White of toy paints, I knew it!!

ok.....I have run a lot of v color and soft lately using MIBK Methyl Isobutyl Ketone. You can buy it on ebay no problem. I been buying 1000 ml bottles.

it pretty much works perfectly. much better that the netcrafft thinner...which I think is actually MEK anyways.

What's the best way to store mixed Vcolor? I tried glass bottles but the thinner dried up and half of the Vcolor is gone.

Just got my glass 2oz bottles with droppers, around 12 different V-Color paints, and i'm on my way to HD to try to find ACETONE, and i just have a question if anyone can help, WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST THINNING RATIO BETWEEN ACETONE AND V-COLOR? Thanks so much

Re: How to paint with V-Color

So, after getting no help on the ratio i decided to give it a go and this is what happened.

At first i got the spiderwebs (now i know what those are) but just added a little bit more acetone and got rid of em, then, I decided to try it on a micro eyezon i had lying around somewhere and i really like how the paint works.

I've only used createx wicked colors and Monster Kolor paints but this is nothing like those, it leaves like a flocked texture on the vinyl, so is that the effect you get with this paint? For some reason i thought it was going to be more glossy looking and a lot smoother to the touch, is this the result i should be getting or am i missing something?

Why are you using acetone to thin your paint?

Re: How to paint with V-Color

Thu Jun 20, 2013 2:38 am

Thanks frank!!

Just got me a steal on a gallon jug of MEK!!!!

Re: How to paint with V-Color

Thu Jun 20, 2013 6:11 am

carebear...

you should be using MEK.

acetone can still be used for cleaning your gun out but you might just want to use lacquer thinner for that. acetone is alittle harsher on your gun. i usually just use it for stripping.

Rich wrote:Well there is nothing that can substitute V-Color thinner 100% but the only other alternative would be pure acetone.

I decided to go with acetone for this reason  I was kinda eager to test the paint but now i know what to use, unfortunately i mixed 6 of the 12 paints with acetone, now i don't know if i can still use them :( , thanks for the help guys, apparently the seller on ebay ran out of MEK, so now i'll just put away the other 6 paints i have left for now.

GUNNZO Has this as a Vinyl Paint Thinner ( http://gunnzo.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=40&products_id=1115 ), just got a pint with another load of paints, unfortunately it does not show what kind of chemical it is, does anyone here know if this is MEK by any chance? Or what would be the best mixing ratio with V-Color since it does not come with an application guide.

Thanks in advance

Re: How to paint with V-Color

Thu Jul 25, 2013 4:54 am

its probably the proper thinner, so i'd assume that its 50/50 like the beginning of this thread says.
I got some but havent had a chance to use it, but on the back it says something about containing ketones and other methyl blahblahblah. hopefully someone can chime in with some more solid info.
or you could try it out and report back
