 RxH vs Cement
Since I'm having my front yard redone, I was really impressed with the brick and mortar work the contractors were doing with my front walkway. I was so impressed, I requested that they try their hand at doing a little custom vinyl work... I gave them a Solid Mutant Chaos to work with and this is what I got: Turned out even better than I thought it would. I really wish I could photograph this to really show the symmetry of the casting mold. All done by hand, and an incredible first for someone not accustomed to working with vinyl toys before.

It's the 'mobster' colorway.

It might look better if they sprinkle a little dirt on it.

 Re: RxH vs Cement
I like the subtle blending of colours. Where a lot of companies go wrong is they only use a few bursts of spray. That's not art. Art takes a long time. Blending.

Maybe some Spanish tile or glitter? Either way, it's simple and original, nice work.

 Re: RxH vs Cement
where's the sneakers? no spray can? that thing sucks...this just shows you know absolutely NOTHING about kaiju at all. you should really just stick to the crocs...get a bedazzler like liquid and go nuts on those.

 Re: RxH vs Cement
So, what's the next step with this one?
- Red Rit Dye bath? - Drippy V-color application? - Metallic color-change paint/pinstriping? - Add rhinestones? - Chia-pet seeds?
Help me determine the future direction of Kaiju customization!

Just so you know, I'm thinking my next custom will be a clear Standard Zag filled with chocolate Jell-O Pudding, and then cast into a block of clear gelatin... sort of a think piece. Perhaps alternating layers of thin colored gelatin to make it look like a rainbow.

 Re: RxH vs Cement
There appears to be a post-Baudrillard dialectic going on in this edition, not unlike how the cinema of Michael Hanake challenges one to reconsider the lessons of Bergman regarding the futility of amorality in contemporary Austrian society, or Swedish if you're Bergman. I'd like to see this in the pink Hawaiian scheme as well, if only for a post-ironic bit of post-post-postmodern recontextualization, as Mori would never cast pink Hawaiian cement unless the Popsoda crew threatened to hit him over the head with a flocked quick-dry cinder block. Kudos to your contractors, loco. Clearly, they are the next Paul Kaiju!

 Re: RxH vs Cement
Mondocoyote was dead on about the subtle blend of colors. The fade has a Zen like quality to it that is almost imperceptible. I also like the delft use of different textures on the front and sides of the figure. A real solid sculpt, this is definitely no shelf diver! I think it's high time someone ushered elements of Minimalism and Conceptualism into the kaiju world and the Cement Solid Mutant Chaos is a true winner. It's hard to deny it's impact and it will certainly remain a stand out among the string of other cookie cutter Chaos customs. Loco please post picks when you finish the Pudding/Clear Gelatin Zag. I think a gauntlet has been thrown down.
