Post Magma Bee- First kaiju custom
Well, this is my first Secret Base custom, and the first time I've really used my airbrush. It's really not as exciting as a lot of the stuff up here, but I wanted to try something simple to start out. Let me know what you think!

I tried raising the contrast, but you still can't really see the difference in the colors like you can in person.

Looks pretty good, what type of paint did you use?

I used Tamiya acrylics (specifically orange and clear red).

For sure! Keep up the good work! I wish I could paint, but I suck. Always cool to see more and more customizers.

I'd swear, if I had a dime everytime Lash typed "v-color" here... :)

Truth is - Tamiya and Mr Hobby will scratch off easily with one coat. But if you use the airbrush the way it was designed to, a few light layers with a decent dry time between each coat you will have no problem.

By far though, the Tamiya clear colors have been the best I have worked with, nice job on the bee.

Well then....

V-Color
V-Color
V-Color

A full dollars worth ;)

V-color is where its at for >> ME << at least. The shit is killer !

I've used tamiya many times in the past. I've used its straight, thinned with its thinner, thinned with rubbing alcohol you name it. And in the end its not for me for use with vinyl toys. With paintings yeah sure I will use it with out a problem.

Shit I have even used oils on vinyl. ( where the hell is fresh.ness ?? )

Now I know its not the total answer but for all I have worked with VC is my personal fav and is crazy durable.

Also there are artist here who I admire who dont use VC ( shape) so don't take my word that VC is the only option.

P.S. >>> By the way sweet custom :) keep it up !

Thanks for all the kind words everyone!

Lash: I've been meaning to try V-color, but I can get Tamiya from just about any hobby store around here, so rather than wait for an order from KT, I just decided to get some Tamiya. I'll definitely try VC out for my next one, though.

O yeah man same here. But once you change you will wonder why you waisted that paint on vinyl. Save it for your fine arts and hold off for the VC. Its not the same to paint with you have to treat it differently.

But in the end I guess its what works for you.

Good luck :)

Does anyone happen to need a black DBX skull bee? I'd like to paint a brain to match the bee, but I don't have any money.... :P
