Post Your Art!
The recent banner contest and some clever Photoshop work posted recently to this board made it clear that there are some talented graphic artists here. I suspect that in addition to the people already known for their custom kaiju paint jobs, there are a number of people here who are adept in various media.
Please post some examples of whatever you do that's visually creative in this thread. Don't worry about your skill level or whatever ... this is for fun and nobody should feel that they're not "good enough."
I'll start with a few examples of the admittedly amateurish 3D work I've done over the past few years. Unfortunately Photobucket removed what I consider to be my best work because they object to even the most tasteful and artistic of nudity, even if it doesn't involve actual humans, but here are some other things I've done for fun. Click the images for larger sizes.
"Jelly Drift" - rendered in Vue d'Esprit a few years ago
"Rise of the Mud Men" - composed in Poser and Vue, rendered in Vue
"Pieta Arcana" - rendered in Poser
"Persistance of Gumby" - I think this was the first thing I did. Silly, I know.
That's all for now. If I can find a less uptight hosting service I'll post some better stuff at some point. Your turn now. C'mon peeps ... post your art, whatever it may be!

Hehehe ... my pleasure. Just gimme some time to find a free or inexpensive FTP or image hosting service that doesn't get upset by seeing virtual breasts.

Thank you kindly. I wasn't crazy about it at the time but the good folks at Curious Labs traded copyright to that image for a free copy of their next version of Poser. I'm told they used it for a flyer at SIGGRAPH but I never saw a copy.
-NT- I really like your paintings. The middle two almost look like abstract representations of calligraphy to me for some reason. Nice "supergraphic" sensability you've got there.
Keep 'em coming folks! I know some of you are superb photgraphers too. Post some recent work!

I made a series of bad paintings of bathrooms in high school (geez. about 8 years ago now). At the end of the semester, we had our own little gallery showings. I displayed all my works in a tiny closet and served brownies and lemonade as refreshments.

wow. you actually figured out who I based the work on... awesome!
i think we were supposed to try to stick with a certain style or something like that and we were discouraged to do cartoon-ish work... and I was really diggin' Hockney's stuff at the time.

Thanks! Interesting about the "calligraphy". I didn't intend for the images to look like text, but I did sketch the objects in a similar way to how I write - in that the lines were scribbled out very quickly, and in an "all upper case" sort of way. I dunno if that makes sense. I write in block letters.
And yeah, I really like super clean linework with flat blocks of color. Sometimes I try to do some blending and shading, but usually I stick with crisp. I need to start painting again...

Brooklyn Machine Works just had a design competition for a new t design. I did this in cad. I thought the concept was good but all those Downhill dudes found it lame. The Brooklyn bridge made up the letters BMW.

Heres's a few of mine. I prefer etching to painting but the studios and equipment are MUCH more expensive in Japan than England.
No monsters here.

I haven't done a whole lot with paper, but me and a friend like to dabble in the art of sound.

Most of my art revolves around tattoos. I'm usually drawing up ideas for tattoo flash designs. This is part of a sheet i'm putting together. All hand drawn in PS with a Wacom Tablet.

Just a doodle from the sketchbook
Giclee Print
One of the things I had in the Wooster on Spring Show last year.
Some street art from a year or so ago:
Custom toy I did for a show last year his name is H.R. Bloodnguts. I was unaware of Kaiju paint job conventions until recently and this is done up in black metal flake Kustom Kolor hot rod paint and coated in auto coating. I was all "why hasn't anyone done toys in metallic flake paint?". Lol. I did another in this style for a 20 inch of KR's flagship fig. They're fucking expensive as hell to do so I think I'll just invest in an airbrush next time.

Man, all of you dudes are pretty damn talented. There' is some serious stuff here.
With that being said, I will look through my stuff and see if there's anything I don't consider too lame to post.
