You sir are completely correct in asking this question. I have a few photos and a lot of video. And a story to tell. Just haven't had any time to do it justice since I came back. This weekend ..... this weekend...if all goes according to plan.

Just one thing to say right now:

Just one thing to say right now:

Just listen to the ORIGINAL music these guys are strip mining!!!!!

These guys are soooo done to death anyway. Seriously, try Sabbath Zepplin Pink Floyd Budgie etc etc etc. Having said that though, it is cool to see this music back in "vogue". Just a shame they aren't doing anything with it.

did you see their video clip "based" on the Pink Floyd Pompeii footage of "Echoes"?? Damn what blatant theft. At least when the Beastie Boys did the same thing it was a nod, but something different.

I've only heard Dimension, which I was very impressed with. I can't moan though, I love Maiden (rehash) and Trad doom bands which is the same chord for 20 minutes

I grew up with the original bands, Ozzy, Zep, Sabbath, and also saw more than a few of them live...but seeing these guys live AND listening to the album and it seems ultra-fresh. Believe me, but my friends wanted to be cynical about these guys - espcially after seeing a vdieo clip the night before, and everyone joking that WOman could be a Spinal Tap outtake - but everyone I was with voted them band of the weekend. They had a fucking great vibe live, it was so much fun, they don't take 'em selves seriously, but they play like bastards! I crawled out of work the day I got home just to lineup and talk my way into an amazing instore they did. Can't understand quite why, but somehow they make me smile and want to rock out...and I wasn't alone. A girl who I blagged in with me was some LA club hottie, and was saying that she didn't normally dig this kind of music, but there she was without her posse, pucking the air.

As for being done to death - not here, not yet. The album only came out here on Tuesday. I presume its been out in Austrailia for months?

One final thing: A Frank Frazetta cover - Fucking AWESOME!!!!

I wanted to .... but guess what? Same time as Wolfmother, and despite DS being a top band, as WM where my pick of the weekend, I think I did the right thing. Hopefully they'll play in LA soon, and I'll see em there.

Muton - you know I am warming to Wolfmother and yeah, the album has been out here for ages. I actually thought it was their second album, but I assume the release with that Triangle cover was an ep.
Wolfmother really do rock on and it is a welcome change on the radio that's for sure. I know that if it had have been say 8-10 yrs ago, I would be all over them, but I have found so much 60's/70's tunes that it's become a bit of a hurdle to me liking them. I think the "Echoesesque" film clip they did is a big hurdle too. No one should mess with the psych Floyd!! heh heh. I do hope the youngsters use Wolfmother as a step into the early Sabbath and Floyd like stuff though. That would be cool. A real resurgence, and maybe run with it into new areas for today.
Thanks for your input though, I will look at them in that light.

Also, I heard that a few Oz groups did good over there. One in particlar ripped it up other than Wolfmother. Can't think of the band though.

WOman!!
