lived here for the last 10 years... it's suburbia for sure. lots of tract homes, strip malls, starbucks... you know the air conditioned nightmare. but in it's defense we actually still have a comic shop, a really great independent record store 10 mins west in claremont. tucked between 3 frwys, in good traffic, less than an hour to LA, 30 mins to orange county, less than 2hrs to san diego [though peak traffic can be hell to those places]... i lived in upland [next door] from 84-92, so i can be jaded remembering when this place was mostly vineyards, not desperate housewives. but i came back & overall we've enjoyed our time here... i've no kids, but the schools are supposed to be pretty good.
