LA Art Book Fair.....

Thu Jan 29, 2015 3:43 pm

If anyone is going to this, http://laartbookfair.net/about/

I was wondering if you could pick me up Neckfaces new zine.

He should be at the 8BallZine booth.

Any help would be great, thanks.

I went there early and was told he wasn't bringing them until 4. I couldn't stay that late unfortunately and tried everything to try and get a small stack for muling. I was even gonna get one for leucotomy. Tried to pre-pay and hold them, but neither of the booth attendants could tell me anything relevant or reliable... Mike was gonna try and grab some for me, but couldn't make it. Seems it would have been for not anyway. Oh well...

Now, don't be too upset as I did see the only copy on the table (viewing only) and for $10, I think you all could have done better. It was a crappy photocopied zine (which is cool, I understand) that didn't seem to warrant the hype. Just saying... Don't be too bummed out people. Not for the zine, the decal or the chance at his auto. Save up for one of his paintings instead.

The fair itself is very cool nonetheless. Definitely worth going to. Best parking is off 2nd Street for $7. A couple of great spots to eat there in Jap Town. One of my faves is Spitz, the other is the Lazy Ox. I forget the noodle joint on 1st (I think) with the yellow awning, but good luck getting in there without waiting an hour or longer outside. It's good, but not that good. There are some good deals at the fair. One of which is a buy one Richter book for $20 and get the other for free. Worth it. Some cool old ephemera at some of the tables. Wuvableoaf is there, in the queer section. Great section btw. If you go tomorrow, Thurston Moore is performing at 4 somewhere there. Probably outside.

Anyway, go if you can
