I'm so jealous of everyone who is a local and already has one. Today, Bigfoot is delivering it to Florida. Hopefully he arrives sometime by the end of the week.

I have it, picked it up at the RxH show in SF. Live in Boston. Gotta say, I think I will be ordering one to read in the can.

Just got mine. Los Angeles. Bumned though because there is a lot of water spot damage on the Real head pages. Not going to return it because of shipping prices but I wonder if it was just mine. Looks almost like someone was reading it with wet fingers.

And...damn there's a lot of RxH I want now. So start selling the old ones to me peeps.

Mine looks like it has some on the rxh pages too however...I thought it was due prior to the printing of the pages and assembly to the book. I don't think it's something that happened after. But who knows.. I read somewhere before that they were having printing problems hence the delay.

Anyway..I thought it was intentional and looked kind of cool to me.

Yes, i can see these pages going for texture and a crafted paper feel. If it was intentional then I'll keep my mouth shut about the water mark placement. I do really like the paper on these pages. And so much visual temptation.

The water spots are intentional. It is designed to like an Audubon Society field guide all weathered and worn from time spent searching for rare birds.

I assumed it was intentional. The background looks like parchment or handmade paper. You get marks like that with either.

I'm completely blown away by the Mook. I had high expectations and it exceeded them. It's better than the other two major "art toy" books out there right now, and I'm not just saying that because of my preference for Japanese toys. It's an amazing accomplishment, design-wise. Vanguard graphically and fun to read. Those symmetrical arrangements of photos of vintage toys have "Brian Flynn" written all over them. :-)

EDIT: Oops cross-post with Pogue.

Knowing they're intentional makes it so much cooler. When I flipped to that page I thought it was actually a cool graphic but wasn't sure.

edited for spelling

yes, those water spots are intentional. Due to the nature of color correcting the pages accurately for printing, some of the additional texture and variation in the background that would have made it a bit more obvious was diminished some, but we made slight changes to make sure the color on the RxH figures was as accurate as possible.

I have a question -has anyone actually READ the mook yet? No one I have herad has spent the time with the articles in the back yet.

I'm saving the mook for the weekend, when I light some candles, put on some Michael Bolton (Is anything better than when he sings "When a Man Loves a Woman"?), and slip into my bubble-bath.
