got mine in yesterday - UPS just left it on the stoop! Ugh, in my neighborhood I'm lucky it was still there.

The box was mashed - looks like something heavy was on it and it was upside down. I open it up only to find that when the tissue paper was put around the box someone had put tape on the box lid and it was damaged. The tape pulled away a 3" section :( I had looked forward to displaying the box with the trooper but I can't with it mashed and the cover damaged. I'm hoping the trooper isn't damaged (still in the box).

Please don't remove the orange safety tip?

When I pulled the gun out of the bag the tip fell off?

I removed the orange tip as soon as I took it out. It was just there for legal reasons anyway I assume.

What a piece of crap. I'd send it back for a refund if I were you. You spend $300 and the toy falls apart right out of the box? Pfffffffffffffff

Ah, so here's where the discussion seems to be. The "Show Your Collection" thread threw me off...with it's 6 measley posts.

Straight from the TBDX brog...yet more fucking Stormtrooper pics!!

Image

My impression? Fucking AWESOME.

Now, there's a few ways to review something, right? For example, you can talk about what you like about a thing. Or you can talk about what you don't like about the thing.

First off, I'm not a vintage "snob", per se, when it comes to Japanese robot toys...but I certainly prefer the vintage aethetic when it comes to Jumbos, chogokin, and whatnot. I'm also no stranger to Jumbo Machinders, in particular.

With that disclaimer, I can tell you now that if I were to try to talk about what I like about the Jumbo Stormtrooper, it would just take too damn long. What I'm gonna do is tell you what I'd probably change about the toy if I could. You should take that NOT as nit-picking...but as a testament of how fucking badass this toy is. Ya smell me?

Okay, let's go. First off, I think the guys went a little crazy with the resin in the feet! This motherfucker weighs a ton! I think they shoulda just weighed the weights in traditional jumbos' feet and matched that mass in resin. As it is right now, handling it can be a bit awkward. Is it a big deal? Hardly.

Another weight issue: I absolutely love the velvety feel of the soft vinyl used on the shooty fist...but I'd probably have rotocast it a bit thinner. The fist, on its own, weighs quite a bit. If ya cut down the weight by, like, 50%, think of how much farther that motherfucker will fly!

And speaking of fists, while the right hand with the blaster in it looks good, I could definitely have done without the pointy index finger. Other jumbos get by just fine with a normal fist with a small hole in it for a weapon. I really thing that should've been done here. Without the gun in his hand, he just looks silly!

Lastly, I realize cost is always a difficult thing to balance, but I, for one, would have paid an extra $50 or so to get a blaster that actually shot a Jumbo missile (a black and white one, of course--the traditional red and white just wouldn't work!). Oh, and of course, missile clips for said missiles on the legs.

Aaaand...that's it. As a fairly experienced Jumbo fan, those are the *ONLY FUCKING THINGS* I could even think of to change on this toy. That says a whole goddamn lot about how dope this thing is.

I can relate- I've never received a package through UPA that wasn't damaged somehow; my box was smashed too. You'd think a $300 toy would at least warrant some bubble wrap. My Stormtrooper seems intact, I hope yours is too, CCPfan. It is an awesome toy!

Does anyone's have scratches on the stormtrooper itself? Mine has long scratches in 2 places. :( Nothing major but still.

There was no real damage to the box.

I would check your spam folder and see if there is one there, or just drop one of the guys an email at the store.

No shipping notice either, but Josh let me have the tracking number (thanks!)
I've checked and it looks like mine is held up at UK customs - waiting for a letter detailing my 'ransom' charges...
