BEYOND wrote: Mori is really dissappointed finding out that someone in the USA sold a Mutant Head for that much money. The thing is he heard it from a friend of his and he kinda knew who it was cause that person is the only person in the USA that has it. He's just sad to hear these things from other people because he makes his figures for the fans and not to be just bid off like that the next day or even couple years.
This pretty much says it all.

I think this is a private matter between Mori and Mark, and that no one who is not involved it in should call Mark a liar or flip. Namecalling is not productive, whereas this discussion may be.
And, trust me, if this situation's players were reversed, I would stick up for Isaac or anyone else who was a subject of namecalling. God knows Isaac has been kind and generous and helpful with me and this is not an attempt to take sides, rather this is an attempt to reason the issue in a mature manner.

I think Beyond's post was both reasonable and mature. I am not sure why you keep talking about name calling and immaturity. I guess it is easier than dealing with the issue.
I will say it again: when you sell on ebay nothing is private.
I sure hope Mark picked up dinner.

But if he did flip a gift given to him by the toymaker and post a fake explanation as to where he got it, which is what Isaac and Mori seems to think, why can't Isaac call him out for being lame, and on his own board no less? And prices of toys affect all of us, so what good does it do to keep uber lame instances of flipping under wraps? It seems that Isaac has everyone's best interest (well maybe not Mark's) at heart with his post and people are just way too into letting people get away with the insane flipping of toys around here. Yeah it's his toy and he can do what he wants yadda yadda, but at the same time people don't have to like it and should be able to publicly voice their concern on this matter that affects all of us.

i do a lot of layout and design work for record labels and i do it for next to nothing $$ wise and usually i ask for a test press of said record with the intention of turning around and selling it to make some extra cash. i'm pretty clear up front with this too.
but i have also received test presses as gifts from friends in bands. these on the other hand i wouldn't sell because it is a gift. i have a bunch i know i could sell and make a pretty hefty chunk of change off of but i could never do it in good conscience.
and if it was something that i truly didn't want i would either give it back to the person and say hey, someone else would appreciate it much more than me or at the very least get some sort of blessing to sell it.

The fact is unless you have talked to Mori, you don't know the situation first-hand. To comment on it, and call someone a liar or a flip is malicious unless you have your facts straight. I have communicated with Mark, so I know his side. Glenn, for all your insight, have you talked with anyone personally about this? When you sold that Kozik dunn@y a few weeks ago for $400+ no one called you a flip, but I guess you did not get that as a "gift" from Frank. When I read it, being an x-collector of Western toys, I thought it was great -- stick it to the dunn*y hunters! All these things are relative.
The truth is that this forum is viewable by the public, and people have professional reputations. If statements are carelessly made, names called that are not accurate or reasonable, then reputations can be harmed. I don't believe that Mark deserves the shit that everyone is giving him, so I am standing up for him. Like I said, if the roles were reversed, I would do the same for Isaac gladly. I have received many PMs that voice this. Given the past relationship between Super 7 and Mark, this should have been handled with more professionalism by all.
Where do you want to go with this? What will make you happy? To have a pronouncement that Mark is an asshole for selling the figure he got from Mori? Maybe we can set up a ring at Super 7 and have everyone fight it out? See how quickly this becomes very immature. Again, this is a matter between two toy creators. I just wish now that I would have had the money to purchase this toy. Who knew it was so rare?
And, you misunderstood me, Glenn. BEYOND did not call names: he just gave his opinion. Opinions = good; names = bad.
I learned my lesson about names here on this board -- painfully. I have called names here before and learned from it. I value all my friends and contacts on this board. So, I'm not going to make the same mistake (hopefully) again, and hope others see that while discussion is good and healthy, name calling is not.

If the figure would have sold for 100 bucks would their really have been all this uncalled for negativity towards Mark?
Probably not. The discussions would have been, " Who the hell got that rare piece!".
Of course the reason to put something on ebay is to maximize your profit, thats why people use it.
But to take it out on Mark because the auction ended for insane money is simply wrong and malicious.
The market dictated the price not Mark that's the simple fact, no matter how much folks don't like it.
Whatever Marks reasons are for selling the figure are his business and should have no relevance here.

By the way, speaking of creator gifts, I am still looking for a buzz soda zag, if anyone has one for sale. I can keep the transaction really quiet! Come on. . . anyone?
[This last remark is supposed to be funny, but if anyone has one, send me a PM, you hear?]
