Super7 magazine issue 11 has a great article on Barom 1 and respective demons made by Bandai and Popy. There is a list member who has all the vintage Bandai demons, talk about holy grail figs. As for recent releases, I believe Rainbow released: Udegeruge (hand demon) in purple blue and flesh colorways, Kuchibiruge (mouth demon) in red and purple colorways in 2004, Nougeruge (brain demon) in flesh and orange colorways in 2006, Doruge in black and blue colorways and Kamigeruge (hair demon) in red and blue colorways in May. Frankeruge, dragonfly nymph demon, and mushroom demon are scheduled for July and the claw, neck, and thorn demons in Sept. I'm no expert, if anyone knows of any other releases please post info. I know of a Masked Rider kaiju of a giant head with a guy who rides inside which is made by Rainbow. If a list member has 1, please post pics it is so cool!

All of the Rainbow Barom-1 toys belong on my "Damn, One of These Days I Will Have These" list. I know next to nothing about Barom-1, but the kaiju are so wildly grotesque, I love them.

I really like the black THN version Doruge, especially the greenish eyes with the black. I snagged the blue version but was too slow on the THN.

Have there been any kaijin (those are human sized monsters right?) figs of the Antmen
They're badass! I thought they were from Space Giants but I see their Barom1

I'd love to see 1 of those hand-painted ones. A flesh Udegeruge sold on YJA today for over 70000 yen, & a blue 1 is still running at almost 70000. It will be interesting to see the final price, there's no end to the madness. Last year at this time the Udegeruge was selling for around 20000. Oh well, it's best to jump on new releases. Even some of the newer Marmit Ultra kaiju have doubled and even tripled in price on YJA less than 6 months after release.

for once i'm not too late for all the goodness to come. i just got my first rainbow fig, the doruge black THN version. i succesfully bid on the neck demon, too so he'll be on the way soon. i definitly got rainbow fever, how interesting to find that these are actually based on something. thanks for all the great links, especially to the demon list page!
does anyone know how to get on the rainbow mailing list? i would like to do so.

just in case anyone wants one, there is another thorn doruge monster about to end tonite with no bids at 13,000 yen. it hass no pic, which is the way the main guy who sells rainbow on yahoo does his auctions, so theyy can be hard to spot
