Post New Kaiju dork
Hi my name is Alex, and I too suffer from a crippling toy addiction.

Just wanted to take a minute and introduce myself. I collect mainly CCP and M-1 Kaiju vinyls, focusing on Gamera (my favorite)and Godzilla (so I won't be any competition on the SB, RealxHead, and Blobs).

My turn-ons are glow vinyl and twinkling lights.

Any other Old Timey Kaiju nerds in the house?

I wouldn't call myself old school but I've been into kaiju vinyl for a couple years now. Welcome to the board. M-1 rawks, by the way. One of my favorites.

hey turtletooth,

i am fully down with old school kaiju. I acknowledge SB, etc to be great, but Kaiju is where it's at!

I'm not really into buying godzilla's, gamera's or ultaman's, but i'm into the more bizarre appearing villains. I love the M1 stuff.. crap i love most any company if they make a toy that looks completely weird.

The thing that appeals to me the most about kaiju is the simplicity... it's amazing how someone could use three colors of spray, then put dots on they eyes and you have a toy that looks complete. That being said why the hell am i paying $100 for a toy!?!?! ;)

welcome!

Oh yeah, vintage vinyl still rocks it! SB just happens to be the new evolution of the old toys (I think).

Hi Alex - I like CCP too. I have at least one each of 6 different CCP Hedorah sculpts. I even put the motors on the flying one and let my kid play with it in the tub!

Hey thanks for the welcome everybody!

Just to be clear I don't have anything against the designer toys, I just can't afford them! I would love to have an army of skullwings and SB, but I have a hard enough time keeping up with all the M-1, and CCP releases that I want. Plus I have to buy every Gamera vinyl I see regardless of the maker.

creevox, I am genuflecting before your glow altar! That's a very cool unpainted assortment.

bryanarchy, I'm with you, simplicity is what makes toys timeless. I love all the whacked out lesser known characters too, I just have to keep some kind of focus in my collection. Space and money are limiting factors.

brianflynn, I agree, the new companies are moving kaiju toys into strange and wonderful places. It's a great time to be a collector!

yiminy, now you'll need a remote control Ebirah for the swimming pool! I am so tempted to do that. Have you seen the new Hedorah (hitting the smokestack-bong) that's coming out this year? Should be the best yet IMHO.

Hey Yiminy it's on the CCP blog. You can scroll down and see some covert pics of the glow version of the upcoming King Goji too. There are also some pics of the early sculpts of the GMK Goji. I heard all of these should be out sometime this year.

I will attempt to link to the Hedorah pic, but I'm a spaz with this stuff, so apologies in advance if you can't see it.

Thanks Alex! I wasn't sure from the crappy babelfish translation of the text if this will be a CCP production item or if it's a one-off. It is awesome, for sure! I love that scene in the movie too. Pass me that smokestack...
