Post Vintage Inspiration
Here is a 5 1/2" piece of vintage vinyl that seems to have inspired some of the new clear vinyl see thru to printed paper insides figures.

One of my fav. small figs. ENJOY

The insides of the arms, legs, and body are printed paper, rolled into 3D tubes and the head has thin cut pieces of colored foil inside, like some of the Blobpus.

Hi Brian,

Sorry to say I do not have the clear Barom 1 figure yet. If you find 2 of them, call me.

I like how the legs look all tendony.

is the whole line toku heroes? that one that bob posted is Fireman (I think?), VGA says there's a Barom, and I can see a Kamen Rider in that last photo.

Wow Bob! That toy is incredible! I love the paper inserts and glitter. Everything old is new again, but that little fella is timeless.

This reeks of awesome-ness!!

I believe, that despite being green with pychadelic inserts, this is a Fireman figure.

Very cool.

I like this fig a lot, but I'm even more interested in the Kamen Rider and Kikaider in that pic...

Bigger pics available, maybe?

Does anyone have these available, or is this the beginning of a new quest?
^_^

C'mon D-Dub - you know you could not stop at one...... you will need to feed the monkey so you will buy another, and another. You would get so wrapped up in them you would be begging me to buy your RxH collection form you...... on second thought - you need to start buying these now!

And yes Skyler is right - I think it Fireman also. I also see a larger size Kikaider in D-Dubs pic too........ yummy

I think it funny how the japanese culture goes to such extremes for their characters. They do cut away pics of the monsters (ULtra and Toho's) all time showing their inside organs and such. Wasn't aware there was a toy line that did the same. Too cool for school! Imagine if we did it with out heroes and characters? Spiderman all cut openshowing his guts........

Ah, Dr. T, but that could be possible...

Spider-man was a Japanese hero, sort of. He even teamed up with Kamen Rider V3.

I can direct you here:

http://comics.ign.com/articles/606/606299p1.html

And I can send you another little pic e-mail wise...

I'm currently trying to find out more about Japanese Spidey toys, including the possibilities of ones such as these with the inserts. I want a good Spidey to go with my Kamen Rider in the Bandai-type scale, mainly...

Spidey's Japanese origin is more like Green Lantern, with an alien granting him the spider bracelets and a giant mecha, Leopardon ( ).

yes, the cyborgs are that inspiration, we did an article on cyborgs back in 5 or 6. Also, the piple clearner SB secret 5 is based on the Astro-mu 5, the skull brain chest is based on the King Walder chest, and there are a million more inspiration pieces.
