 Story behind SB?
Is there any sort of story/explanation behind the SB characters/types? They are supposed to be fighters, correct? Can anyone shed some light?
thanks

Skull Bee was the first SB sculpt, designed as an opponent to the OG fight figure Fink-shit. Different parties have been involved in some of the designs.

A Couple Descriptions From Full Vinyl
Skull Bee Story: Long ago, in a time before katukogi existed, there was a man of strong heart and body. Everyday was spent training with his closet friend who was also his perennial rival. After many decades and numerous folds in history's flow, kakutogi became a popular sport. At that time Skull Bee also openined his own dojo and had many deshi that he trained everyday, to train the heart with a sense of justice is a great challenge. He was not the one to popularize the sport. From another country there came talk of a special match with another fighter from abroad. Skull Bee's deshi told him this was a fortuitous oppurtunity to demonstrate his unrivaled might to the world. With the encouragement of so many, he accepted the match, though he had largely passed the peak period of his abilities. The fight promoter was thrilled with the spectacle. A cruel match indeed. Watching this, there was one who lept into the ring. His name was the pricipal deshi Skull Brain. To be continued........
Skull Brain Story: From childhood he traveled alone to different countries and trained. His only proof was his strength. Among all the fighting techniques he mastered, he put his greatest strength into kickboxing. However, the one who turned all his confidence to naught was the Skull Bee sensei. He heard of Skull Bee's strength and plotted to make himself famous by beating Skull Bee. But, of course, the outcome was a total deeat for Skull Brain. It was his first time to lose on the basis of strength. It was also his first time to meet a master of kakutogi. Soon enough he began to tran and refine his skills under Skull Bees tutelage. Then he became Skull Bee's principal deshi.

I went out looking for Full Vinyl last night at the local bookstores- without any luck. What other characters "origins" does it divulge?

i think full vinyl is the best book out there, you should try to get a copy.
some other stories
Skull Mantis: He himself doesnt know why he is double headed and has no recollection where he was born. Without friends, trusting no one, strength alone is the reality this double headed Mantis kept close to his heart. He would do anything and kill anyone in order to survive. He grew and lived this way and rumor of such spread. At some point he came to be called 2 Mantis Assassin. Outside of this, no information has been revealed. To be continued... Aside from Skull-Bee " In the middle of training, just by chance, right- I encountered for the first time someone strong who had the same life as I had. The sickle of his wrist was trouble. But, yeah, if i meet him again I'll finish him off."
Monster-Bee Man: Did you know there is a planet with a civilization more advanced than our own? What would you do if that planet was controlled not by humans buy by insects? Do you have a friend that has disappeared recently? Perhaps this story may have something to do with it. Perhaps.. Mission One: Kidnap Earthlings. There is a monster insect that schemes to conquer planets by kidnapping earthlings and cross cloning then with their own alien species to produce a stronger, hybrid being. These monster insects kidnap select earthling specimens who they consider superior. They bring them back to their own planet to conduct their scientific transplants and successfully produced a monster bee with a human form. Its left hand was a special poison stinger and its life force power was one hundred times that of any earthling. What is there next target? Earth, perhaps, To be continued...

I wasn't sure on that either, its either the suit or those TWIM designed king skull bees. There is no pics in the book next to descriptions so I am not sure.

I think the line: "Its left hand was a special poison stinger " gives it away as the Phantom 8 man suit - it's a human insect hybrid - which is exactly what it resembles.

I want the skull wing and Usugrow story, maybe a comic book or "manga". Thats what they call comics in japan, I know a lot of people here aren't familiar with japanese stuff so thats just a little brush up on it for everyone
