 the body of a bakos... do the standard sized bakos and the zags share the same body? i got a few zags but no bakos, so i can't study them in hand, only via pictures on the net...

The "old" Bakos and Zags did share the same body. Gargamel resculpted the body of the Zag for SDCC 07 so if they do more Bakos they will probably share the same sculpt again but as of now the newer zags and older bakos have different bodies.
