I've gotta say, the b-man being part of the 'respect' series seems a little odd to me, too. Coke and Tiffany's are Capitalist/Consumerist Icons whereas Batman is..well...it's a character in books and movies. Whatever.

Batman isn't a Capitalist/Consumerist Icon? He makes someone a lot of money, word on the street he has had his hand in comicbooks, tshirt, TV, Film, sippy cups etc. for decades... just a rumor though.

Making someone a lot of money doesn't make something an Icon.

McDonald's is an Icon, Taco Bell isn't. They both make lots of money.

True, but Batman may or may not be part of the Respect (and even without noting the $$$) series but as an Icon?

Yeah he is.

It may just be matter of personal observation.

to me, Coca Cola and Tiffany's are symbolic of something larger in american culture and Batman (while being a personal favorite character, and as you've pointed out, enduring and probitable) doesn't have the same cultural weight...

Batman doesn't come with a bandana. B-man isn't part of the series.

I think you have hit the nail on the head.
At no point did I ever thing that the B-man was connected to the coke or tiffany releases. If only for this reason.
The bandanna and the fact that the colour scheme is way out fromm the other 2.

Micky D's has spread it's toxic tentacles ALL over the world, no doubt. When visiting Egypt years ago, they had gigantic billboard-like signs in the middle of the desert. Hard to beat their marketing strategy.

If McDonalds was around during the day of the Pharaohs you wanna tell me they could resist the delicious 10 piece McNugget combo? I think THEY would bow to Ronald.

McDonalds is everything I love about this day and age. it's a perfect example of the decline of culture in the area of 'good taste' (and i'm not referring to flavor)...

McDonald's food labs personnel will be glad to know that the area of 'good flavor' is not in decline... Look for more exciting McD offerings engineered from crispy chicken flavored deep fried fat.

I once had this dream...long long ago....where I'm sitting watching television ...something inane, and the signal gets cut into like some sort of pirate signal is taking over. Then I'm looking at a large gold M on my screen and then Ronald walks out dressed like Patton or some kind of war general.
He then proceeds to inform the viewers that they have all at one point or another been exposed to the "Mcvirus" and if they want the "Mcantidote" they'll join the "McArmy"(if they know whats good for them)....this is where i woke up in a cold sweat...literally.
That was about 8 years ago, and I've never eaten Mcdonalds since ...

i'd like to see a respect type series for washed up companies. Lucky Strike cigarettes would be a great one. While still awesome, their day at the top of the food chain is long long gone and will never return...
