 Awesome King Kappar
I know Kappa is some sort of bird--any info on this dude King Kappar? Lulubell site says "one of the most amazingly detailed Ultraman monster."

Nice...this figure looks impressive. I love the variation of paint colors. I always thought Kappa were more frog or turtle than bird like?

Yeah, a Kappa is like a water-spirit, usually in the form of a turtle. Swimming-pool-on-top-of-head = no joking around.

 Re: Awesome King Kappar
Kappa is the most famous Yokai in Japan, In English it is called "River Child". The dish on top of it's head is filled with water and is the source of the Kappa's energy... if it is drained the Kappa will weaken.
Kappa are thought to have been invented by parents trying to discourage young children from playing to close to the water...be careful or the Kappa will get you!

 Re: Awesome King Kappar
King Kappa was form the Ultraman Ace series (1972-73). He was in episode 19 - "Mystery of the Water-Imp's Mansion" He seems to be part bird (feathers & beak), part ox (horns) and part turtle (shell on his back)....but I guess that is kind of the way of the Ultraman monster, and why I love them so
