jeez, I didn't even get an email response when I contacted the gallery. Guess they could smell the lack of cash I had

Me three. Whatever. At those prices, they can put those Marnons where the sun don't shine.
...because I hope they're keeping them out of the sunlight.

 Re: Dream Rockets blows minds
I'm surprised the Marnon Wall is only $1,200. In the art world, that's chump change. As for the 2 winged ones costing that much, that's too much in our world but again, in the gallery scene, that's about what you'd expect to pay, if not more. Ain't it funny how context changes valuation? But we already hashed that out re: auctions.
When my collector friends get back from Miami it'll be interesting to hear what people are buying, if anything, and whether the galleries played it safe or are still being edgy. Last year's weird news was that everyone was afraid to buy any Murakami because his representation is a scattershot mess. This year the speculation is all about "the economy" of course.

*fingers crossed* for production winged Marnon(s) down the road.

 Re: Dream Rockets blows minds
The Marnon wall and winged ones were unique items. Thus the hefty price tag. But I was speaking with the artists and museum curator, and I hear that they are considering a regular release of these (at least the winged ones) in the future. But for $1,200, you could own the prototype! One thing, though. Upon close inspection, one of the wings on one was damaged (a large crack had appeared). I've got video of everything at the show, and I'll try to get it up in the near future.
