Post Ever have anything go inbound to customs?
I was surprised when a package didn't arrive today. I checked the tracking and it went inbound to US customs.

It was the most expensive toy I ever bought, a secret base bbb.

The only other time a toy went into customs (also a bbb), it arrived like this:

So I am quite concerned.

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

I wouldn't worry. "Inbound to customs," I believe, is one of the several milestone steps when something is tracked via the USPS. Expect it to clear in 2-3 days and then be on its way to you. From what I gather, we've got it pretty easy in the US compared to other countries!

Dang, looks like they sliced open the foot to check for drugs. Did you have insurance put on it? I guess customs couldn't understand how a toy could be insured for upwards of $100.

I know some people who's work had holes drilled into resin, and some chemical stuff put onto it.
and I have gotten packages re-wrapped really badly with US customs tape.

In Turkey they like to rip, cut, & destroy toys.

I have the majority of my items, sent from Japan, end up "Inbound into Customs". Always in SF. Never had an issue- and usually en route again within a day or so. (knock on wood)
You should be fine.

Vinyl in freezing cargo bay on the plane + pressure from other boxes piled on top = fracture. Had that happen to one of our robots coming back from a show in Cali. A proto no less, still bums me out to this day.

Same story here, all my items from overseas usually go through LAX inbound customs...usually holds it up 1-3 days max from what I remember. Never had a breakage issue. *knock on wood. Had my items opened once or twice tho.

This is like asking if a package has been processed through a sorting facility.

There was EMS insurance, but I never followed through. It was limited to 11, so kinda bummed. I glued it back on.

Funny story, I tried to use Elmer's super glue, but had an accident while opening the bottle and got superglue all over my fingers. Then I found out that superglue doesn't bond to soft vinyl.

The purpose of customs is to act as a front line against harmful importations. I would be suspicious of something marked "toy" to adults, especially upon opening it and not being able to recognize the character (no kids stuff). So customs opens your stuff and makes sure nothing shady is going on. My fear is that the skull brain legs look like they can twist off.
