You may enjoy something arriving in the fall Hohoho, how cryptic! I can't wait to see! And I love my Hukkokudo Zag. Got the clear orange with metallic blue and red sprays, gold eye + teeth. Is the Bagun sculpted by TE from scratch?

Re: Target Earth
Nothing wrong with the Hukkokudo Zag - I already own one so I'm not gonna double up on that one.. A new goofy TE sculpt would be great.
If you're gonna get all academic about it, I think Siccaluna have done the most accurate version of Zagora based on the original illustration. But that a derail waiting to happen - The Zag charaacters deserves his own thread covering all of the different versions out there.

Agreed Shikaruna does make the most accurate version based on the illustration, probably why I collect those as well We do have several old threads where these (zags) were discussed as they came out (Shikaruna & Hukkukudo): viewtopic.php?f=3&t=18250&hilit=zagoraviewtopic.php?f=3&t=11782&hilit=zagoraviewtopic.php?f=3&t=11151&hilit=zagoraI'm all for derails....

Re: Target Earth
Gotta love the Zag! Still need to add a Shikaruna Zag to my collection, but I'll find one someday.
See, that's what I'm saying... TE's doofy Bagun is hilarious! We need a TE doofy Zag so they can be awkward buddies!

In the spirit of keeping the derail alive, do any of the Zag variations out there feature the ankylosaurus / Anguirus back plating from the illustration?

Re: Target Earth
From memory the Marmit, Siccaluna (Shikaruna?), and Hukkokudo (not as much) versions have the crazy spiked backs

Re: Target Earth
^ Thanks! Spot on. So only Gargamel skipped the detail. Interesting. And John? I almost re-posted about Mad Tank and Jap Bug the other day, too. Might as well do it now, anyway: Flipping superb, the both of them.

... Technically, G's toy is not Zagora since it was just 'inspired by' the illustrations and old Daikyo toy at the time (much like all of their Zokki line).

nice to see the last few images to compare notes and nerd out a few minutes! akum6n wrote: 'inspired by' the illustrations and old Daikyo perfect example of any given monsters character by TE also a few other beloved Zokki style Sofvi makers would be great to see Gargamel take of Kougai Kaiju, Parabola/Brutal A etc. really a good many sculpts now and unreleased prototypes out there- will it all get made? regarding TE some of the best are soon to be as far as a request of a related Sofvi doll, I would choose a pterodactyl or other prehistoric sculpt maybe an amebelodon under the TE brand done in the style of all the 60's and 70's pachi toy lines by Hukkokudo:

Re: Target Earth
Love that shot of the back spikes. Some really excellent sculpting right there. Probably an unpopular opinion around here, but I much prefer that version to the Gargamel one. But I also love the Huk' reissue too incredibly, so there's that.
I definitely want to see more Daikyo and pachi inspired fellas coming from TE, which is what I was trying to say before. To me, this has been their best work to date. I guess it is just because I am more into dinosaurs and vintage stuff, but I really hope TE revisits that direction again.

Re: Target Earth
Man, I'm going to have to eventually find a Mad Tank once they start showing up in the wild. That thing is awesome, and I totally snoozed on it, like a lot of other recent TE goodies. Not being rich sucks. Here's a recent shot of one of the first TE toys I ever acquired -- The elusive, and wonderful Gate Guard Karakk:

Re: Target Earth
Wow, I have never seen that sculpt Jason. Very nice. Is this one of Sato's original character sculpts? I certainly come up totally blank in terms of historical influences.

Re: Target Earth
Dang Jason, that is indeed a lovely acquisition. Like so many of the recent TE releases, you rarely get to see these out in the wild after their initial release. Really happy that you were able to track one down, and he looks gorgeous. I love me some tree monsters.

I so want a gate guard, Kichigai, any chance you could line up a new release?

Re: Target Earth
Yeah, I think if a new release is forthcoming, having a connect would go a long way to sate the desires of a lot of international TE fans. But I can appreciate that distribution of sought after toys is a complicated issue at the best of times.

Re: Target Earth
I do love that Creature and it took me quite a while to happen into one. 5 folks into getting a set of 3 Black Karakk? 2 alternate painted versions & 1 unpainted? So.. 15 Karakk split into 3 versions making a limited run of 5 sets of 3 No promises tho certainly possible and only 4 folks would need to commit, I will keep 1 Anyway I want to also keep the thread free of sales so as before hit me via PM by end of June and I will put the boat in the water
