Donnie Darko is an excellent movie combining '80s high school angst, time travel, black holes, and divine intervention.

How much extra footage is in the Director's Cut?
I heard that the original film was editted in order to intentionally not explain as much...

It has more scenes with Donnie and his family, which I thought added a lot. Apparently the first edit of the film was another 30 minutes longer than the directors cut.

I appreciate both cuts for different reasons
The directors cut seemed like a different movie to me
more things are explained
but then it leaves more questions
Did anyone else play around on the crazy website they had for a while?
