The REST of teh Story:

Seriously - I had to leave teh con early on Friday cos I felt so sick - but seieng those pics of me after Skeletal Carnival, its like I don't even look sick. Without that event I'd have been on a downer cos I felt so lousy and felt cheated after looking forward to SDCC for a year, but it seriously made it into something I will ALWAYS remember my whole life!

What some people don't realize is that teh grail bag on display was a tease, when I got to teh front of teh line, Pus handed me a Nike(!) bag with a bunch more shit in it. However, I couldn't open it for fear of what was inside. People kept hassling me saying: open it, open it - but I couldn't do it. I was still reeling from teh lottery call, and all the pressure of choosing form so many phenomenal handpaints.

In teh end, I found a little spot on my own and started taking a peak, and the stokedness just kept on coming. Then I kept having to repeat teh unveiling as people kept asking. Someone said to me was I showing it off again, but what could you do if people keep asking? As it hadn't sunk in - plus I was pissing my pants cos I just spent 2250 at the event, and maxxed another card out - seeing the look on peoples face brought it home to me. Sure, there were a couple of haters, but far and away people were stoked for me. Most stoked though was Pus - and that was really, really gratifying.

I also have to add that Mike Sutfin's Bop Dragons were AMAZING! That was the hardest pick for me. When Chris mentioned Grail bag, I was in. Then I mis-chose a Dam in my haste, but switched to an amazing Hand paint Jumbo Jar of Pus, when I realized why would I want a dam when I can have a toy Pus designed AND painted?

Oh, when I finally did start pulling teh stuff out of teh grail bag I started shrieking I think - and thats when CBS dude came up. I thought it was someone taking teh piss at first. Anyway, teh interview abruptly ended when he asked me how I was feeling right now and I said: "I feel moist in my private places" ..... but you have to tell it like it is when it comes to toy ecstasy!

I really have to say a huge thanks to Pushead, Jon, David, Chris, Mike and Usugrow and S7 for hosting. Made my toy collecting year!

While it sucked big time that you were sick and feeling super lowsy, I'm sure nature was just balancing out the event for you. Feeling healthy AND the insane ecstasy of opening and finding out that you own the contents of that grail bag is like having your cake and eating it too! That would just be too much...your head would have just exploded.

that guy from cbs was so clueless. he didnt know what the hell was going on at all. i think he felt uncomfortable after that whole moist comment by carl since the interview ended pretty much after carl said that hahaha.

I'm one of the jealous ones I wish I would have gotten that grail bag....but I will say that I'm happy for you Carl - Congrats and enjoy! Sorry for asking you to show me right after you showed someone else. You are now....a bigger Skullbrain celebrity!
