CALL for 2010 events!

As 2009 is winding down, we can see that it has been a stupendous year for Toy Events. There has been a big growth in individual, group and custom shows especially in Japan. The global dialog has become an intense and vibrant conversation. I think in 2010 we will see more folks moving past the custom show phase (which I think of speed dating) and into more involved cross-cultural relationships. It will be exciting to see what fruits these deeper relationships will bear.

If you know of any events that are coming up the next year or any that need to be squeezed into the remainder of this year please let me know.

Personally, I am excited for next year's Millenial Masters Part Deux.

Is anyone in Japan going to Patchi Fest? If so, I am looking for help getting the "blue face" version of the KillerJ Sarumon.

Kaiju Comrades II runs from March 12-14, according to the show posters.

You had to buy a lucky bag for about 15000yen and then you had a chance of getting a coupon that would allow you to buy the taigan for around 6300yen. It was painted by Yuji of M1.

For a second, when I saw the green base under the Taigan
I thought, "M1 is making a freaking taigan?!"
Not that the yamanaya isn't great, it is...especially
with that paint job. Someone is a lucky sob.

Does anyone know if the Kaiju Comrades II event is going to be something that you need to buy a ticket for or is it a "show up and pay" kind of thing? It looks awesome and I really don't want to miss it.

As far as I know you can just show up and check out the show at any time the gallery is open.

Excellent, I kept searching the website for additional information but it was pretty much just a video and artist list. I feel much better now.

To confirm what Don said, the homepage says "Show is free of charge, exclusives go on sale at the Gallery in Japan, March 12th thru the 14th."
