Re: skull head butt B-movie space monsters of greatness
I think any versions of these I'd like to see I've seen. Blood red (w/glitter as a bonus!?) Done. Black, done. Slimey green. Done.
I'm not sure how I feel on the gold. I don't DISLIKE them, but something doesn't hit me, BUT there's something weird about them that I like the idea of. Weird for sure.

Re: skull head butt B-movie space monsters of greatness
It is a lot of money in the grand scheme of things, but it's all relative. I'm sure a lot of people would think spending $30-60 on a mini soft vinyl toy of any sort is inconceivably ridiculous.
Say this toy retails for 10,000. I'm just guessing at that number as I have no idea what they cost at any show they've been released at. That's $125, half of the $250 you've mentioned. I'd say that the other half can be distributed between (1) service fees since someone has to be there to buy it for a distributor, or an agent has to be there to buy it, (2) the limited aspect and desirability of the toys themselves (unfortunately, we all have to pay for this sometimes if we don't have the privilege to visit a show -- the Veruca Salt Syndrome), (3) and international shipping and handling if buying in the US.

Re: skull head butt B-movie space monsters of greatness
That's how a lot of Japanese vinyl in the US is. The store buys it at full price from the maker. RxH in Japan is cheaper from Mori then at official US retailers. These are just larger/more expensive. I wouldn't compare this situation to Saruman only because the BIG beef w/Saruman wasn't "too much too soon get the money!" it was that it was based on a pre-existing toy made by another company who was still around and someone came along and "ripped it off." That's where people started dropping Killer J stuff. These are a lot of releases for such large figures w/so many in a series in 1 chunk though. But I don't care, I'm not a completist

I'm not saying the price isn't founded in some way and that costs add up, I'm just saying too rich for my blood.

Re: skull head butt B-movie space monsters of greatness
I would have liked to see the heads spread out too. Run with a few for half a year, then release a few more. It is kind of frustrating when you see a set of 6 figures. It's alright just scoring 1 or 2, but in the back of my head I'm always like fuck, I feel like I'm breaking up a set, even though that's not the case. And I hate breaking sets.

I do understand it is at least another option at trying to secure one, but getting one here at retail is pretty damn impossible as well.

I held off on the first couple offerings. Now that they got close to the original Blaisdell red of It! The Terror From Beyond Space, I'm going to crack on the Star-X.

Re: skull head butt B-movie space monsters of greatness
wow, thanks for the pics, I really didn't expect there to be more but they look awesome. I searched for pics and didn't find any even on the SHB site. So were any more figures made in gold besides those 4 big guys, or any others in red besides the 5 shown?
