fuck yeah!! Cheap Blanks for customs from different manufacturers!!
Since we all buy V-Color from KT as well, this is a stroke of genius on Taro's part...

I'm sure all the customizers out there will be getting messages from people to 'do them a solid'

I really dig the concept and also the fact that it's opening up a bigger bridge between designer-product-consumer. This will also create/motivate a new area of collecting too and gives a chance for the collectors to try out something new (without competition). I also believe that the best customizers will possibly get a deal to get it a proper release, this will put collectors onto a whole new and previously unimaginable experience. There are so many different ways this can develop and I am truly excited and congratulate KT for this ingenious idea. This also brings the brands together on the same level, and I am happy that many brands I love are getting into this idea.
We really need a different customizing section on this forum to help the newbs like me to ease into doing our own versions. I can imagine there are lots of short cuts, links, books available for this kind of thing. Can't wait to see how this all develops.

I agree that a matte version would be cool. The Gargamel among these do look shinier than the Chaos, but if you want your Chaos matte, it's easy - acetone on an unpaint will generally take off the gloss. (It will also leave the piece more susceptible to yellowing, so 303 Aerospace would be advisable.) This is one reason one can't strip paint with acetone and have it look like an 'original unpaint' sculpt - the acetone takes off the glosscoat along with the paint.

I only want the zag and chaos. Can someone in NYC or just anyone add those to their order. We can split on shipping and you can order multiples.

Maybe someone at KT can get Hiddy to throw some white diy Skull Captains and Skull Pirates in the second (assuming there is a second) series of these.

Could not have said it better myself. I can see the top customizers doing limited "pirate run" with custom header cards etc. The price makes it more doable. KT just made history. I ordered a Damnedron and a Chaos. I was going to order multiples but it says on the KT website that they will restock if it sells out. How perfect is that?! A ready stock when you need it. DANGNGNGNG!!

how new of an idea is this? shitty companies and their platform toys have been been selling DIY blanks for years already.
{sarcasm]and yes, a new forum is exactly what this place needs along with more awesome customs[/sarcasm]

Not to naysay I agree that this is a stroke of Jesus on Taro's part as well. But honestly I dont think anyone's going to sign a deal on the strength of customs alone. I can think of maybe 4 people in the western scene who got to do production toys from their custom work and they would've gotten toys on the strength of their art/design in the first place.
There are custom boards out there that are well documented as a place where garbage is the coin of the land, but this idea is a great sandbox for people to have fun with. And for collectors of mono colorway toys.

Does anyone have the Tamiya airbrush that they have for sale? Is it worth $140 or is there a better airbrush in that price range?
