I am glad you pointed this out. All the Kaws kuns are made in Japan - and are far superior as a result. Also, the Melting kuns are made in Japan - again way superior. I had to get rid of that green web footed guy because he was the poorest of the lot IMO, big chunks of stuck together vinyl, but the older kuns still look good. I have to wonder why BxH with their "all other toys suck" posture don't go for made in Japan more? Sure it would cost more, but the toys would be way better, and no doubt profit margins could still be met.

I'd imagine since hes been making toys for quite a while with Garageworks, and the OG its probably a case of "if it ain't broke don't fix it". Personally, I'm surprised at the level of excitement surrounding this release. To me it's a totally generic design. If it were western you'd all be ripping it to shreds like that Mickey Mario toy a couple weeks back. What was that quote from Frank K?

It takes the shape of the Kun like it should, meshed with a good old retro cartoon feel, where is the problem?. That mario toy was crap, just because the "artist" can give a long, drawn out, technical explanation still doesnt make his work good. Majority seems to be it simply sucked and didnt do anything for anyone. This, does things for fans of BxH and fans of the Kun character.

 Re: BXH
You know the side angles definitely do show its "Kun-ness" a lot better. Personally I've never really cared for the majority of BxH's toys. I do however love the Julius and Kaibutsu Kun family and the House 33 collab, those are truly amazing toys but none of them are original sculpts. Even tho I generally dislike their toys BXH gets my utmost respect for being the originator.

Its a simple formula for me: JP Vinyl > Chinese Vinyl

 Re: BXH
ok then let me edit it to totally overrated!!! now what??? wondering why u would fall to this argument that is usually abused by noobs justifying why they stopped collecting dummys and now are hardcore jvinyl collectors. honestly??? ...sure there is differences - no doubt - but really wouldnt want most early solid bxh figs like hensley, ahiru kun or kid hunter in "soft vinyl" rough figs for the hardcore soft vinyl for all others have a good one

 Re: BXH
I have to agree that I like the matte Chinese-style vinyl better for these types of toys, though I'm sure Japan could do this kind of vinyl too. I want em to look like cheap-o vintage American advertising figures, not shiny Kaiju.
Anyway, it's nice to see a new original design out of BxH, this kind of cartoony toy is what they do best in my opinion.
