No problem at all, Kirkland.

I tried to ask Mori what each toy inspired what, but it was difficult because he kept going on and on about how cool the bootleg Officer Big Mac was.
He would be pointing out how crappy the sticker on his belt is, and I'd be saying, "Cool! Hey Mori, what character did this other toy inspire?" And he would say, "Shintosan," and then return to marveling at how shitty the paint job was on the bootleg Officer Big Mac while shaking his head and laughing to himself.

Ha to funny :)

Did the Ninja Turtle inspire Mutant Head and Mutant Evil.

If I remember my mook correctly. Mori first made the Oni Head and it was not very popular. He noticed Japanese collectors loved TMNT and yes, made teh Evil and Head to appeal to the TMNT collectors.

I remember him saying that Mutant Head was directly inspired by the TMNT. Let's also not forget the TMNT mini set.

It's fascinating to try and backwards engineer these characters. Love that monkey toy that inspired Cyclomanion. I'm with Mori. The most prized figure in my collection is a bootleg too.

Actually the Lightan explains a lot of the Bigaroid design- the red bulbs on its chest and the spiderweb pattern, specifically. I always thought it to be a Zaku reference, so those details seemed out of place. Now when are we getting a gold Bigaroid??

I still swear Chaos' head is based on Office Big Mac's head. Maybe even subconsciously. He even has the point where Officer has the hat.

This is what makes RxH so interesting to me. He's a guy that likes the toys that I remember growing up with- mecha, Spawn, TMNT, etc.- and now he's making his own toys based on these memories. Thanks for pulling him away from Officer Big Mac long enough to ask these questions, Scott.

Cool to see inspirations for figures! I have to say though I think the evil is a stretch for those inspirations. Its always seemed obvious what the inspiration was.
