Re: Modern Toy: Giant Gamera, etc.
The green one comes with a tower and the blue one has the lighthouse.
Do the other versions come with accessories?

.... I am not sure where that earthtron or sample color came from. Maybe it is a custom paint? The blue painted one came with a lighthouse. The green, orange, the earthtron and blue unpainted were released with a Tokyo Tower. I don't know what the accessory for the glow version was. The gamera Earthron color version is not a 1-off custom but a limited release. I have seen others.

Re: Modern Toy: Giant Gamera, etc.
S7 had a giant gamera for the longest time that i would contemplate getting everytime i went there. the $200 price tag was the only thing keeping me from it, yet i would drop $200 on an orange LB rebel ink... i'm a retard.

Re: Modern Toy: Giant Gamera, etc.
I ordered mine (blue w/lighthouse) through Masato Shono in 2002 or so. I remember Biskup had an orange one in his office at Cartoon Network around the same time. I think the green & GID versions came later.

I think someone had one of the classic green ones in the sales thread for a little bit. Could've been another Gamera, though.

It really is a wonderfully sculpted interpretation of Gamera. U.S. Toy and Gargamel take a very similar, graphical approach to their sculpts. Great stuff Daniel.

The green is my favorite, tho' I'd probably love the glow but I can't find a pic of it. Here's the green from CT: http://www.clubtokyo.org/listings/popVariation.php?varID=1485&contentID=864

Re: Modern Toy: Giant Gamera, etc.
I only have two photos of mine among other toys that actually give a good sense of scale Ever since I got mine in 07/08, I've wanted more of them - but unless you want the green or blue one, it's a tough order to fill.

He looks awesome holding the Tower. ^^^ akum6n's GID version is a real beauty! The minimal paint adds just the right highlights while letting the sculpt do all the talking.

Nothing really new to add, but that GID Version is off the chart Daniel....Giant size and GID? What more could you ask for? Only 10 made though. That's going to be a tough one to find for anyone looking.

Re: Modern Toy: Giant Gamera, etc.
Thanks guys. I do think the minimal paint on the MT Gameras adds to the fun of the figure. It's not some fancy painted-up art piece- you gotta pick it up and touch it.

Re: Modern Toy: Giant Gamera, etc.
That GID is stunning. Congratulations! I heard that there was a glow version and am happy to know that it wasn't just a rumor. There's something very fun about this guy. Part of the appeal is how clunky it is. It takes up a lot of space though. I plan (hope) to get a few more but have to shift the collection space around before making the commitment.
