BEMON is as BEMON does.. i still want Pazuzu but these Space Monsters are in a vein deep enough for me so BEMON still has a mysterious gravity
i have seen that vintage toy somewhere too plus that bird is old time as well looking forward to seeing more of these & hope one of us finds the reference..

Re: New Bemon Sculpt
Looks okay, but nothing stands out about it. Very classic looking, at first I thought the thread title was a joke, and it was really made by M1. However, coming from Bemon, this is not what I would expect. That said, I'm sure a lot of people will have a negative reaction to it as we all expect something 'crazier' from Bemon. Also I 'd like to see some out of the bag and comparison shots to other toys. Maybe the size and girth of this thing is massive so it feels and looks great than it really is. If this thing is going to be surrounded by hype, and fetches the prices that Bemons are known for, then forget about it. On the other hand, if it's easily accessible then sure I'll get one. But this beats all, kichigai wrote: BEMON is as BEMON does.. edit: I love loooove the claws btw!

Re: New Bemon Sculpt
Well I may be the odd man out here, but I'm into it... It's pretty simple (even color wise) and non-bemon, but on its own I think it's actually a really cool sculpt. Then again, for what it's worth I like all that patchi/bclub/etc stuff, so yeah.

Nothing that interesting about this guy. Well executed and all but just a little too plain looking for my tastes.

Not what I was hoping for, but its still BEMON so Im sure the paint apps will bring it to life.
Ill probably try to grab one to see it in hand before I fully place judgement.

Re: New Bemon Sculpt
I really like the classic feel of the sculpt, but since its Bemon (even if its not his traditional style) I'm sure it'll be priced outside of what I feel its worth. Still a great looking toy though.

Re: New Bemon Sculpt
I dig it. Got a classic kaiju look. No crazy bemonininnyness to it but that's fine. Glad all you *pricks don't like it so maybe I'll actually be able to score one (*I learned how to type w sarcasm finally)

Re: New Bemon Sculpt
like someone said earlier it does remind me of a gargamel sculpt along with the color, different from his usual stuff. Not bad though

Re: New Bemon Sculpt
Can't see anything interesting in this sculpt. A crossbreed between Gargamel and Marusan, with no appeal. Maybe the story behind this lost Kaiju is interesting, but it is too different from the Bemon style I appreciate (even the paint is so insipid...).
Pretty sure nobody would care if it wasn't Bemon branded...

Whoa, I wouldn't call the paint insipid! I like the paint, I'd call it classic. plasticXO wrote: Pretty sure nobody would care if it wasn't Bemon branded... I'm sure some would. There's still a base of collectors only interested in more traditional stuff like Marmit, Marusan, M1, Bullmark etc. What I like about the original Bemon toy is it looks bootleged (which was the goal from what I understand) and even the 2 Headed monster has a garage kit feel. This seems like a legit, copyrighted style product. That's the gap. But I still can't bash it. He did what he wanted, I appreciate it, and it's cool to see him veer off.

Yeah, insipid may be a little harsh. But compared to the wild HP he made, it is utterly classical, no risk. Not what I'm expecting from Bemon, hence the disappointment. I agree with you, it will appeal to some, the sculpt doesn't look bad in itself. But if it goes the initial Bemons, NNN or HxS crazy way, I'll really be puzzled...

Re: New Bemon Sculpt
I have a feeling that head sculpt on there is not the same as the Bemon one. It reminds me of how Target Earth has kinda sorta copied Bemon and HxS in the past. But who knows?

Re: New Bemon Sculpt
Personally, I appreciate this sculpt and would like to see various colorways come out and a size comparison. I'm certain that the back story behind this sculpt will help some appreciate him more. Yes, this is nowhere near what we know and appreciate Bemon figures for, but I am glad to see artists step outside their box to explore different concepts. And I agree, I think these will sell better (or at least I will be interested to buy one) if there won't be a standard "Bemon price tag" attached to this particular kaiju. kichigai wrote: its not the size of your kaiju that matters its how much fun you have playing with it Now this is sig worthy
