I got the Blue/Green GID Bigaro in the mail yesterday... it would be fun to see if any of the more painterly board members had a mind to customize the all GID figures.

Damn those are cool! I sold the two real head figures I've been able to procure because I got frustrated with trying to get such limited figures, but these are soooooo damn tempting! I'd definitely grab em if I had the chance!

I don't think you could be a completist with RH so i'd be happy with just a few.

yeah I feel you, I'm definitely not a completist. Just all the ones I really like are impossible to get it seems like. All I was ever able to get was an orange chaos and a light blue mutant head (both for expensive auction prices) neither of which were my favorite color schemes. They were both really badass figures, but I like more dark/evil/glowing blood splattered type colors. These new GID versions are RIGHT up my alley. I would definitely be happy with just those two in my collection!

Unfortuantely, the Bigaro and Chaos only come as a set.
I can't decide - should I start a reserved list? If I do, then a bunch of people who don't email or check the board regularly miss out, and none of these toys will ever make it out of the back stock room. Or do I just release them at a specific time so that everyone gets a fair shot at them? If I do that, a lot of regulars and good collectors may miss out. How does a new guy ever get anything in either scenario? Opinions?

Yeah you get all the goodies livin in San Fran Knewman.
What are the people in Texas suppose to do?
Wait for an overpriced flipper on ebay?
No resentment just would like some fair play.

Personally I'd love to get a set of these and a reserve list means I have a good chance to get it. But I feel you when you say these won't get passed the die-hard board memebers. How do new people get hooked/started when the product is gone in a span of a few minutes...
Could you hold some in reserve and post them to the online store at a later time? Of course then you run the risk of having stock you can't move because people have gone elsewhere or the hype has died down...
I don't know. I appreciate that you are taking the time to consider all of the collectors out there though.

Yeah I definitely would lean towards the reserve list BUT I see where you're coming from as well Brian. On the one hand, to us on the board it seems like the long-time collectors should get first crack at something so crucial for a serious realxhead collector. On the other hand how are people who have only just recently realized that monsters are infinitely better than bunny rabbits ever get a chance at starting a good collection? I remember when that was me like not even a year ago so I'm sure very few of us here have any right to exclude the non-fanatic/new collectors from getting a chance.
That being said, if they're really serious about collecting this stuff they should DEFINITELY be smart enough to find this message board and check up regularly.

How about split what stock you're getting. Put one half up on the website at any time and the other half to a lottery of people who enter there names?

I say no to a lottery. I'm a sore loser. I'd rather miss out from being too slow. I like the reserve list. If new people want this stuff they'll find out about it.

I know what you are saying, the fever is high.
But at the same time I wouldn't have thought that the SB fever would ever die and yet Brian still has stuff on the site from his last Japan trip. It might not be the case in the short term but long term...who knows.
But having said all that I'm still greedy and wouldn't mind the preorder list.

Well, if there is going to be a preorder list, then def put me down for a set...
As far as the justifications of offering these up to the general public...I'd say it's hard partly just because of the extremely limited numbers of these figures. Also, I'm a "new guy" but it wasn't too hard to find this board and send Brian an email to find out what was up...Thus, it's always nice to reward those most passionate about the new figures. On the other hand, it's hard to entice new people to the hobby when the "average consumer" (if there is such a thing with this stuff) can't even see the new stuff. One thing that might be cool is to have a section on the main website where pictures of new figures are posted, even if they aren't available to purchase...Anyway, again, it's so hard with such a limited supply...
