 Re: BEAR MODEL
I can't believe it took me so long to finally buy one of these, but this was definitely the right one. Still in his original box with the inserts (which by the way feature some cool yokai hand sketches). Time to work on the other minis Guess this should actually go in this thread, since this isn't about a BM release, but we kinda seem to be going back and forth between them with the postings of our toys. Consensus anyone?

 Re: BEAR MODEL
^^^ - well I try to keep the distinction alive, but I haven't gotten any new Bears in a while to justify a post.
Great pick-up, Steve! One of my first and still one of my favorites.

I thought the blue one was super-common. I picked up mine ages ago for under 2k. I definitely like that green one better though!

 Re: BEAR MODEL
Its a old post but i want to share. the GUBIRA was made by Marmit. Here is link from Marmit offical website. http://www.marmit.co.jp/ivent/kt-007a.htmhttp://www.marmit.co.jp/ivent/kt-007b.htmAnd there are only 2 company Making GUBIRA standard size soft vinyl, Marmit and Marusan. Including lucky bag/limited vesion. Marmit have been released 4 versions and Marusan have been released 6 versions so far. No Bear Model standard size release i m 100% sure. and the sculpt is very Marmit to me. And about the Bear Claw Graphic printed on some of the Marmit's header card its just a coupon for trading free toy. Just like the M1's. There are 2 kind of coupon "大" = Big and "小" = Small. 30pcs "Big" coupon can trade for a standard size(Not for sale) version Random Kaiju 20pcs "Small" coupon can trade for a Medium size(Not for sale) version Random Kaiju Here is the page of info for how to get your prize. http://www.marmit.co.jp/hb/marmit_pre.htmThe Moog wrote: OK - i have a question about a Bear Model sculpt that does or does-not exist . . . . maybe a more knowledgeable collector on SB might be able to put me out of my misery! GUBIRA (or Gubila) グビラ There is definitely a Bear Model mini of Gubira, here is my one: Gubira by The Moog Image Dump, on Flickr I always assumed that there was a full size version by Bear Model because he appears on some of their header cards : Bear Model Header Card by The Moog Image Dump, on Flickr But after a lot of searching I can find no evidence of a full-size version other than some pics that COOP posted on his flickr stream. He says that this version is Bear Model but I'm almost sure now that it is actually Marmit : L1590744.jpg by COOP666, on Flickr Now, i don't like to contradict a mega-collector like COOP but this looks identical to the Marmit Gubira - even the paint looks identical on the images i've seen. So . . . anyone know if a full size Bear Model Gubira actually exists?

 Re: BEAR MODEL
Think Ricky is just confirming the earlier post. More of a derail, but I had to share this pic (and might as well do it here) just to show just how awesome the Marusan version is. And amazing kaiju character, from a very cool episode. Sadly I missed this guy.

 Re: BEAR MODEL
^^^ But what a derail it is! SO nice.
I think I'll be taking Ricky's message on the Gubira debate as gospel. Disregard all my previous posts on the topic!

 Re: BEAR MODEL
^^ Nice . . . . the Demos (Spider) in the middle is a mid-size so that makes the two on the left quite small. They look great

 Re: BEAR MODEL
I'm pretty sure Sphinx is standard size, and the Elefander too. That may be a new standard size Demos, difficult to compare with the midsize but there seems to be some differences on the "head" part.

 Re: BEAR MODEL
^^^ ah yes, my mistake . . . . i think you are correct.
The demos does look like a different sculpt . . . . the legs look a bit shorter and thicker compared to the mid size.

 Re: BEAR MODEL
where u found this pic? magazine snap? i found that almost every bear model new toys preview picture is in this low quality? And do you have news when they will be release? since everytime i see a new release pic like this, it take months to wait them show up on market. plasticXO wrote: Next Bear Model releases. Those are photocopied flyers by Bear Model announcing the preorders. They usually are released 2-3 months later.

 Re: BEAR MODEL
^^^ yeah . . . that would be more in line with the Japanese obsession with sea creatures . . . . i haven't seen the episode these are from so i don't know the story behind them. Either way they are great little figures!

 Re: BEAR MODEL
I recently came across this photo on a Japanese blog, which is from Hyper Hobby Magazine: Looks like a catalogue for Bear Model toys . . . i have no idea how many pages it runs for but I'd imagine its a least 4 . . . . i know its from one of these issues: Does anyone know of an online english database for Hyper Hobby? I would like to find out exactly what issue this is in so i might have a small chance of buying it. Bit of a long-shot but I'd like to try!
