Got my lucky bag today! Really liked the orange bag. I had my fingers crossed for the cyborg zag, but no luck. Most of this bag is gonna be up for trade. I really want the Cyborg Zag, willing to trade + cash or multiple figures.

Hey what the heck is the Lucky Bag spoilers bonanza doing outside of the Top 15 (?) General Interests list of threads? This has gotta be fixed so here's a pic of my bag - I'm loving the swirls across Mibora's head! First year where I have been pretty satisfied with every piece in the bag!

On a side note - has anybody noticed that the vinyl seems to be quite 'thin' with the batches in this year's bags? Not quite squishy, but loose and light I guess is the best way of describing it. For once the clear vinyl seems to be the sturdiest piece out of the lot!

I have to say, Mecha/Cyborg Zag is such a great sculpt, and it makes me happy to end that they were included as a common pull in this year's bags. After all those one-off shows, I was worried that they would continue to be somewhat exclusive to people willing to pay a pretty penny.
At the same time the standard Miborah seems to continue to be the "rare" version of Zags, which I'm okay with. It seems to have always been this way.

They should of just put the mecha zag in eveybag. That's the one sculpt everyone wants.

Or....do a release? I'm sorry but it gets old when it's something is so exclusive that you can't get your hands on a toy you like. What is use in liking it then?

Crystal Mecha sells like shit, soooooo they make 5 different colorways AND mixed parts....of a toy that NOBODY WANTS. But Mecha Zag, and/or Winged Kong-which were Big hits with collectors, they make ZERO of them (unless you go to SDCC and battle it out or Score in your $400 lucky bag.)

It's like companies find out what you like, then vow to never make them again (Kumon, MVH, S7, etc...). Hey guys, I can have my head fucked with for free, it's called a girlfriend.

I'll just never get it. If someone loved my design as much a say- a Mecha Zag, I'd do a release every couple of months in different colorways just to keep people happy. Not make 3 of them, hold a "release date" where hundreds of your own fans show up because of some superb mock up--and get frustrated/ EMO because only 3 people flippers with sniper programs get them first. Then they spend the days after the release answering angry emails and trying to make up for it because they pissed off their fans. Why create a model that so obviously alienates YOUR FANS!? Why would you ever turn down someone that is stoked on your shit? Why can't I just BUY what I want? Make sense please. Probably a rant for it's own thread sorry....

I think you're forgetting the up-front cost associated with getting the vinyl pulled, the time it takes to get your vinyl because of extremely backed-up factories, the amount of work that goes into cutting and assembling figures, the time it takes to paint full runs, the time it takes to ship... All of which is done by 1 person in the case of someone like Shirahama or MVH, or by a couple people in the case of someone like Super7. These aren't big companies by any stretch of the imagination. All of those elements promote the idea of smaller runs.

And as far as someone like Super7 or Gargamel goes, they have no idea what's going to take off and what's going to be met with mediocre sales back when they order the vinyl. That's another factor to keep in mind when you consider why one sculpt is more rare than another from a particular company.

Gargamel has been popular for a while, they just get better as time goes by. Last year I only saw custom shows. The only public release I remember was the marbled Hedoran from Super 7. They know they are popular and that their figures are wanted. Why not make it so everyone can get what they want, not just the people who drop hundreds of dollars on one figure.

...but isn't that the whole point of releasing the lucky bags?

$300 for 2 standard figures, 1 medium, 3 mini/pockets, 2 micros... That's an amazing price when you break it down. You can get pieces that you could have never purchased normally from a regular release or a one-off show for monetary reasons.

At least that's why I buy the Lucky Bag. I can't afford regular releases from Gargamel, so spending $300 all in one go for some amazing figures is more than worth it. I end up trading/selling the pieces that don't fit into my collection, so it all works out.
