Last time I saw him at Dcon he gave me the responsibility of reporting to him all the cool things that pop up in the toy world... I forgot to tell him about these.

As my laptop finally died, I had to go to great lengths to get these photo's up. But I had to. Getting a knock on the door from the postman (for once this didn't go to my PO box) early, thinking WTF, then being super excited, ripping open the shipping box and opening the blind bag with a mix of trepidation and excitement - and to be rewarded by this - reminds me WHY I collect toys. Totally stunned, stoked and thrilled! I LOVE pugs and I love bulldogs - how perfect!

So much work went into these. What I didn't realize is that the bloody drips on the head are resin additions. They work. Wow. SB4L.

I can live without the tattoo designs, i preferred the subject matter of the recent hand paint goners but that resin blood is so good, works flawlessly on the dog. congratulations!

Thanks! The tattoo subject matter actually makes this toy for me; I love dogs, especially squashy faced dogs - so given that and the fact I'm British (and such a bulldog) plus its a dog on a dog, so to speak...so getting this version was just so perfect. Its also traditional for SB - their Crank Tattoo Bees are some of my favorite SB toys ever. This is a new favorite...in fact right now...its my favorite SB toy.

I received my blank one today. it is a flocked body with a flesh head. (Non assembled)

God damn that's cool Carl! I love the tattooed versions. I was totally out of it when these went up (and in Japan at the time gah!) and busy. Three Tides is awesome, great work on these.

Carl, I love this! Such a great score. The tattoo designs transferred so well on to this. Love the parrot. I love the "xxx" straight edge reference as well. Flawless.

dog printed dog is super amazing. it kind of re-imagines the whole sculpt to me. its sort of like when dc did the whole batman as a vampire thing...its hard to explain, but that is the best example i could come up with. basically, i feel the obake dog is a "brutal" sculpt, yet it has been hidden behind cutesy-ness (i.e., the cute little printed shirts, cherry blossom ver., etc). but this version kind of says "fuck you. i'm ugly. you may still love me, but fuck you." and i like that. its like a collab lady sovereign got right, without the pointless aid of missy elliot...

thats an awesome example... but then again i'm a comic book nerd through and through

Yep - its flocked. Which works well for the tattoo shading as it kind of seeps into the flocking giving a fuzzy edge to it...mm...anyway, U get the idea.

The blanks seem to be designed with customization in mind - and I'd be interested to see what some of our tattoo folks here come up with (Guf, Miltron?)...

I ordered the blank but I just hope it doesn't become a dust magnet. That's my only gripe about sb flocked toys in general.
