The one that really puzzles me is Pheyaos and Callgrim. Both were collaborations with American companies, and yet there have been way more releases in Japan. I remember saying that we should be patient because Onell will probably have some of the Pheyaos allocated to them. Guess I was wrong there.

You are right. But - its one extreme to the other right - runs of 60 plus that did actually sell out for a long while (I know, I still have all these releases), and then overstaurated teh market. Figures which are blown away by the creativity and aesthetic appeal of some of these micro-releases. Compared with runs of half a dozen (guessing here) available only in store if you are lucky enough to be there. Even Tokyo collectors have complained to me they cant get this stuff - so its not just us.

In the end its up to the creator how stuff is sold - but this new micro-release approach doesnt work either - not for teh RxH fan. There has to be a middle ground which flows some releases to fans not able to go to teh store or who have a direct line to Mori - but still keeps the brand buzzing (as you put it). SB's mail order policy works really well IMO. Even an online lottery. Paying $110 for a new release fight figure retailing at 4000 yen from a flipper is just kinda onerous.

I've only purchased from them once, but I was actually really impressed by the Secret Base mail order system. Communication was great, everything was very transparent, and the figure came speedy fast! I'd love it if that's how some of this new RxH stuff was handled.

No . . . I believe there may have been a Chaosfighter at the same event and there has previously been a Mutant Chaos and Chaos Beast released.

i can definitely back this statement up.
there are something like 15 evils released since around SDCC, and probably close to double that number for chaos. unless u are able to go to the shop every single day, it is no difference if you live in tokyo or london or LA.



i think so too. going either extreme is never good for any brand.
initially the micro releases seem to be a seasonal thing, supposedly for the "slow" summer months but the trend continued well after summer.

however at today's kaiju blue release, the "cupcake" evil (on light beige vinyl this time) and black head are finally available in somewhat "ok" numbers, around 15 to be exact.

So crazy. The head is a pumpkin and the body is wrapped in bandages with candy spilling out. It's actually a finger puppet- not much bigger than a mini cat.

It's weird. I like the colors of the X-rider one quite a bit, but the blue looks kind of flat. Even though we've harped on the rubs, I've almost come to expect it on the Adults.

Then again, I REALLY like the new head, and would totally buy the X one anyway. The colors themselves are great.

I have to say Mori's toys have been totally amazing of late. Wonderful paint, great new sculpts. The brand lost something for a long time, but the last 6 months have been spectacular.

I completely agree. Thats why its heart breakin that some of the best RxH releases since those first ones that got me so excited in 2005 have been micro-releases.

The above Nextman was sold at lulubell. I ordered one but am not sure if there are anymore left.
