I think he set up the first meetings between Shig and Mishka and was helping Shig with the first sales. The original Nag thread had some blow out between Stu(Alice) and Greg over Shig not getting a bootleg or something(I think this led to a "Fuck Mishka" Nag). I think over time Shig and Stu had a falling out and now he is selling them off.

They had a falling out because Stu felt Shig was selling out and letting other people run his toys.

According to Nag Nag Nag. He now hates mishka for a few reasons:

1) He had to pay a 2500 yen wire transfer fee when I transferred the money to his bank account. Anyone that does business, albeit international, knows this is pretty standard fee. I would of sent him the friggen $25 if I knew it would make him hate us.

2)I was late on sending him his header cards. When we met in Japan, he really wanted our version to have a similar style to the Bootleg header. He really liked the style, and wanted to replicate that. Joel and I spent about a week working on the new header, which I think came out pretty kick ass. Nag thought so as well. He wanted to add some text and we were fine with that. He then asked if he could use the header card for future releases. We told him this was OK, but any release he used that header for we asked that we receive at least (1) figure for release and basically a payment for use of the art. We thought this was more than fair. He somehow was very offended by this,and just asked for 3-4 pcs for his personal collection. He originally asked for 10. All of this back and forth delayed us getting him the header cards.

The other issue was that we wanted HIM to print the cards in Japan and send us the prepackaged figures. Again, he was mortified that we were asking him to print the header cards. Not only do we like the printing out in Japan, we like the idea of the entire product being made in Japan. Anyone who knows anything abou this shit, is that Japan just has thier little minutias with priinting and quality of product that you cannot really get in the US.

He claims he hates us becuase he never got his cards. Yes, I was a bit late in sending them but I was never going to burn him. I didnt get to send them before the thanksgiving holiday, and I just sent them this week. It took about 10 days from love to hate. since my last email from him was Nov. 19th, and during thanksgiving break I see the I HATE MISHKA sticker.

3) In Japan I promised him the 1st release of the Bootleg figure. Before Japan I hit up Shanghai. Eddi from Adfunture had told me he had a few figures that he had held back. I asked him if I could have a few before Japan, because I knew a few people that would love them as gifts. Nag Nag Nag had expressed interest in the bootleg, and I really wanted to get him one to present to him during our meeting. When I met Eddi, he only had a fe of the V colorway. Which was way more rare than the 1st release. I gave him the V colorway during our meeting and I promised him that I would get him the first colorway. I am still waiting to get a few from Eddi in Shanghai. During this time, Lamour, said he would give up his one extra to send to NNN since I had promised him and I had no clue when I would get it from Eddi. Joel JUST dropped off the bootleg at the office today. So I have it ready to send , I am just not sure what to do now since he made that sticker, it really bums me out that someone would be so unprofessional. Its a tough conflict since I did promise him, and I am a professional.

4) There also seems to be an issue with the price that we charged for the Caveman. I am going to break it down for you. Apart from the fact that WE took NNN out to dinner in Japan is sort of a mute point, but that is how we do. We dont go to Japan as the cocky foreigners trying to take advantage of anyone. We were offered 10 figures. Our friend Takashi who acted as translator for us, really wanted one as payment for translation. NNN would not make more than 10. We said fine. We also agreed that we would split the cost of the figure. So we received 9 figures. our friend 1. We paid a total of $1045.20 for 10 figures. That is roughly $104.52 per figure. We then spent $40 on printing. That adds $4 to the figure. $108.52. $10 for the bags. $109.52. Lamour is my boy, but he doesnt work for me for free. I paid him $150 on his work for the header. That adds another $15 per figure. So our cost of the figure is $124.52. 1 went to Takashi, 1 stayed in our collection, 1 went to Lamour. That makes a total of 7 to sell. I set the price at $244.44 which was a little less than double the cost of the figure. That equals $1711.08. So we made approx. $466. I dont think that is a lot of money for the work we put into it, and we are doing this for the love of the figure and the art to make a ton of money. Anyone else who is in this business, realizes you cant make a ton of money off of this, especially if you are not making the figures yourseleves. Even then you arent seeing a profit for a while. I did hear that last night that because of our price, Paul Kaiju was somehow forced to cap his figure at $200. I am sorry that this happened, hopefully my breakdown can explain our rationale.

I don't really care what Shig does with his toys or what not. I was just saying what I remembered , it was awhile back in a now long deleated thread, I could be wrong who knows.

never knew the deal with the mishka shig beef, seems like there was no reason for him to go off the deep end on that one, just sours my taste for the toy even further, which sucks because after reading about some of his impish antics at a con I thought to myself "well I may not like his toy and I may not like his selling practices but he sounds like a fun guy" not so much anymore
