Max looks ready to kick Xam butt. The Alien Xam is great looking. Dead Pres. paint application?
I think the Drazoran is my favorite out of the mini line. Still need to get a Capt. Maxx and Tripus though.

Actually it was from Mark. DP's doing a matching pink Maxx for me with some new pearl colors and pin-striping I am torn on the Drazoran. I love the sculpt, up until the face. The face doesn't match the shape of the full-size enough for me, but the whole figure takes paint really well. The Eyezon is hands-down the best of the set, but they really are all great. The only one I could leave is the Tripus.

Mark's made some new mentions of Alien Argus on Twitter. Sounds like he has test shots or first pulls. I am just chomping at the bit to get my hands on one (some).

Didn't see these on maxtoy until they were sold out. Just awesome. Would have loved to have this one sitting next to the neoeyezon with the same paint scheme.

So would I. That was a tough Neo Eyezon to track down... not as hard as the orange rub GID, but not easy. There was some announcement of these going up on Twitter, but they went lickety-split fast.

I got to play with a prototype of one of these. It's bigger than it looks and a really fun toy.
And, they will be available in the US.

I don't now why, but the white Maxx is sooooo good looking. I might have to grab the painted one for myself, even tho I already have the blank, a pink, and both red painteds. The intense post and perfect size just makes it such a fun figure. I wonder if maybe Mark will bring Maxx back and do a fullsize white one.

When I first saw the mini Max, I didn't like it at all. Just didn't like the lack of shoulders, but it's growing on me. Especially that new color.

Yes, he really stands out on the shelf. The paint job on this guy is top notch too!

Yeah, the description on the Max Toy Store says the set was done at a new factory, but I dont remember if Mark said anything else. I've got the silver painted Eyezon and it's great... very simple and effective, and clean. It was cool to have Goto paint the initial set of minis, but there were QC issues with the end result... I think the size and volume of the figures really put a strain on the master.

Yeah, I share the same opinion. Maybe age is no longer on his side. But kudos to the master. Honestly, I wouldn't mind the stray paints if its not on the front. a little here and there does gives it a genuine hand painted touch. Heck, if its Master Goto's stray I'll take it any day.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, this white version I got has the human face ie. the lips. I've been after this version for the longest time. I know, me and my nerdy pursuits.

Yeah, I heard Goto-san's vision's slowly going... Bummer.

Anyway, I agree: I think the white mini Maxx is probably the best paint-masked version I've seen so far. The contrast between the colors and the white background is just incredible...really pops.

The Max Toy site says they're Speed Racer colors, which explains why I was unable to figure out the homage.

I guess I can't complain anymore... managed to just squeak by in time to snag the 1/6 Argus last night through Tokyobuyers. The Drazorous sold out much quicker than Argus... anyone else here gun for either?

I resisted the Maxtoy minis so far but that tripus was just so damn mean and cute !
